Fifth Wheel Installation Trouble Shooting for a 2008 GMC 3500HD

Question:

I have a 2008 GMC 3500HD Single Axle Long bed. I have the integrated brake controller. I have a Reese 16k hitch with rails but I do not have the brackets. I was looking at the custom rail kits but something doesnt look right based on the pictures and installation instructions. One of the bed cross members sit over the brake controller. I think the bracket to extend the brake controller will work but the bracket that mounts to the frame is the one I am concerned about. I have pictures if you need them. Do you have anything that would work? As far as drilling into the frame, any suggestion for the driver side with the tank being so close to the inside of the frame. Do you have any solutions to this dilemma. Any kits available that fit this truck.

You would be able to use Custom Fifth Wheel Bracket Kit, part # RP50064. To clear the factory installed brake control module, a bracket relocation kit is offered. The Relocation Bracket Kit is part # 58318.

Using these parts together will allow you to successfully install your Reese 16K hitch in the bed of your 2008 GMC Sierra 3500.

If you do not have all the hardware from the old rails, or want to use fresh hardware, we do have a replacement kit, part # RP58430. This kit provides all the hardware needed to bolt your 10 bolt rails to your brackets.
