Does a Transmission Cooler Require a Professional Install

Transmission coolers are universal fit items. As long as you have space in front of your radiator to accommodate this cooler then it will fit. The dimensions of the cooler are 11 inches wide, 7-1/4 inches tall and 7/8 thick.

A person with average mechanical ability should be able to install a transmission cooler with little difficulty. It may be necessary to use a jack and jack stands to gain access underneath the car and as always, use proper safety practices when jacking and working under a car.

We have a video of this cooler being installed on a 2006 Honda CR-V. The procedure on your SX4 might vary, but the video will give you a good idea of what is involved. Removing the bumper cover on your vehicle might not be necessary, we did so in the video so that the viewer could get a better view of the installation.
