2005 Honda Pilot Curt Trailer Wiring and Brake Controller Recommendation
Question:
Greetings - I am considering installing a trailer hitch and wiring on my 2005 Honda Pilot. I compared the Curt Trailer wiring with the Honda OEM trailer wiring and I noticed that the Honda OEM Wiring has 2 7.5A fuses near the controller and that they also recommend installing a 20A Fuse in the Main Fuse Box Position #24 which is located under the hood. Do you recommend installing the 20A fuse with this curt wiring harness? If I wanted to add the 7.5A fuses inline with the Curt Controller can you describe where to add these to the controller circuit. Regards,

The correct Curt wiring harness for your 2005 Honda Pilot is actually the part # C55366 and not the part # CU86FR that you referenced as it fits different year vehicles. This harness does not require you install any fuses upon installation.
Check out the install video and instructions links I attached.
To install a brake controller like our best selling P2 part # 90885 you would need the part # ETBC7 for installing the brake controller and a 7-way. I attached an install video and instructions for this as well.
