Question:
Wish to install a Reese 30051 on a 2009 Chevy 1500, crew cab, 2 WD and belive that the kit I need is a 50064-6008, but want to be sure. All the videos and other help points are speaking of 2500 or 3500 models or earlier 1500 and will not fit the new body styles. Which mounting brackets should I use? Thanks.

You are correct, the Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Custom Installation Kit with Brackets and Rails, # 50064-6008, is the correct kit. The kit can be used on different models which is why you see various videos for it. The linked video below is just to give you a general idea of installation.
I have included a video of this kit below.
If your bed is shorter than 6 feet, you may have to use a sidewinder. I have included a link to a sidewinder FAQ that will be helpful.
