The Rage PowerSport Steel Motorcycle Carrier, # MX600, comes with two integrated tie-down straps to secure the scooter. If you wanted it to be extra secure, you could use something like Retractable Ratchet Straps with Push Button Release, # 34414. I have included a video review of this product below.

I am most concerned about the dimensions of your Vespa. I spoke with my contact at Rage and we discussed at length whether or not the Vespa VBB model would fit. Ultimately, you will have to take some measurements. Measure from the center of your hitch pin hole to the rear of your vehicle. Next, measure from the center of the Vespa, to the furthest out portion on the side.

The carrier measures 15-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the carrier, and 20 inches to the center of the track. Our concern is that the Vespa will be too wide and will make contact with the tow vehicle. Basically, if the hitch pin hole is flush with the end of the vehicle, half the width of the Vespa will have to be less than 20 inches. If the hitch pin hole is 5 inches under the vehicle, half the width of the Vespa would have to be less than 15 inches.
