Convert-A-Ball 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5G or # CAB-C5GX1216 for Truck with 6-1/2 Bed

Question:

I have a 2012 GMC 2500HD with a 6 1/2foot bed and a BandW turnover ball gooseneck hitch. I recently ordered a CAB-C5G gooseneck to 5th wheel adaptor from you and plan on installing it on a 2002 Keystone Montana 2850 RK camper. While reading through some of your QandAs, I became concerned that I possibly should have ordered the offset version CAB-C5GX1216 instead. Should I have any problems with the straight adaptor? Or, should I have ordered the offset version?

I want to start off by thanking you for your recent order. We truly appreciate your business.

When it comes to towing your 2002 Keystone Montana camper with your 2012 GMC 2500HD 6-1/2' bed, you would not experience a significant difference using the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter w/ Offset, # CAB-C5GX1216, compared to using the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter, # CAB-C5G that you ordered.

The Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter w/ Offset, # CAB-C5GX1216, improves turning by a few degrees allowing you to make slightly sharper turns.

Neither adapter will allow you to make 90 degree turns while towing your trailer.
