Question:

I have a mountain bike which does not have a round frame where the front support would attach to the bike. Does this matter? Also, I have a 2005 Subaru Outback and wanted to make sure this would go on the factory roof rack. Please let me know...thanks.

The construction of your bike frame should work with the clamp on the Swagman Upright Roof Mounted Bike Rack, item # S64720. The clamp will accommodate many styles of bike frame as long as they are not greatly over-sized. The frame on the bike in our video, see link, is not round and fits very securely.

The Upright Roof Mounted Bike Rack will work on your factory rack as long as it has cross bars and they are no larger than 3-1/8 inches wide and 1-7/8 inches tall.

If you need cross bars for existing raised rails that run front to back, you will need the Thule Complete Crossroad Kit with 50 inch Long Bars and Locks, item # TH45050.
