Saris Freedom SuperClamp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Volkswagen GTI

Today on our 2015 Volkswagen GTI, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Saris Freedom Super Clamp. This is going to be your platform styled 2 bike rack, part number SA4025. As you can see, we've already got our bike up here, you can see what it's going to look like. Once you have it fully assemble with the bike in place on the back of your vehicle. This bike rack does come with your inch and quarter shank as well as the 2 inch adapter. We'll fit your class one, 2 and 3 receivers. Note also that on the bottom side where your shank is connected to your receiver, you're going to have a 3 quarter inch anti-ratible, that's going to help to reduce a lot of the sway, rattle and wobble that you would normally have.



Saris Axis Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Volkswagen GTI

Today on our 2015 Volkswagen GTI, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Saris Axis. It's going to be the hanging style 2 bike rack, part number SA832B. As you can see, we've already got our bike in place so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it fully assembled and on the back of your vehicle. This rack does come with an inch and a quarter shank, as well as a 2 inch adapter. It will fit your class 1, 2, and 3 receivers. We have it in a class 1 today, attached using a 3/4 inch anti-rattle bolt to help reduce the sway, rattle, and wobble.

Today on our 2015 Volkswagen GTI we're going to be doing a test fit of the Saris Freedom. This will be your platform style two bike rack. Part number SA4412B. As you can see we've already got our bike up here on our platform so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it fully assembled and on the back of your vehicle. Note that this does come with your inch and a quarter shank for your class 1 and 2 receivers as well as a 2 inch adapter for your class 3 receivers. We do have it in a class 1 receiver today and it's going to attach using a 3/4 inch anti rattle bolt down below to help reduce a lot of the sway rattle and wobble. I'm going to show you that in a moment. Let's start off by getting a few measurements.



Hollywood Racks Sport Rider 2 Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Volkswagen GTI

Today, on our 2015 Volkswagen GTI, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider. This is going to be your platform style 2-bike rack, part number HR1000. As you can see we've already got a bike on it, so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it fully assembled and in place on the back of your vehicle. Note that this rack does come with your 1-1/4-inch shank for your class I, II, and a 2-inch adapter for your class III receivers. It is going to attach to our receiver from our shank with a 3/4-inch anti-rattle bolt to help reduce the sway, rattle, and wobble that you would normally have. Let's go ahead and start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest distance will be our first measurement, about 9 inches.



Surco Products Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Volkswagen GTI

Today on our 2015 Volkswagen GTI we're going to be doing a test fit of the Surco cargo carrier. Now this Surco cargo carrier is going to be part number 52017. As you can see, it's going to fit snugly on this 1-1/4" class one receiver that we have here today. It's going to have that nice expanded metal base for easy cleanability, as well as that sturdy steel construction with a 300 pound weight capacity. It does attach to our receiver using a hitch pin and clip. That hitch pin and clip will not be included, so if you'd like to get one you can get it on our website, part number PC2. This rack is going to be 20" wide by 48" long.



Yakima FatCat Ski and Snowboard Racks Review - 2015 Volkswagen GTI

Today on our 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI, we'll be doing a test fit of the Yakima Fat Cat. This is going to be your roof rack mounted ski and snowboard carrier that hold 6 skis or 4 snowboards. It will be part number Y03088. As you can see we've already got one fitted onto to the vehicle onto our Yakima Round Bars. Now we'll go ahead and mount the other one up. Make sure that your clamps are undone, they just simply fold up and under, they go right up into the grooves, you'll see the 2 sides there, they go right up into the grooves and then it will simply close up.



Yakima RocketBox Pro Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Volkswagen GTI

Today on our 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI, where going to be doing a test fit of the Yakima RocketBox, this is going to be your Pro 14. It has 14 cubic feet of storage space on the inside of it and it comes in your black finish, with your sturdy plastic construction. We're going to go ahead and put it up on the vehicle and it's going to be part number Y07192. Actually, let me put it up the other way here, that way I can show you how to do it. All right, once you've got it to this point here, you're going to want to make sure that your feet and clamps are open here. Then we will simply sit it down and then we're going to slide it back and that will push those clamps up over where we want them to be, right there. Now let's see if we've got it centered or if that's where we want it.



Whispbar Ski and Snowboard Racks Review - 2015 Volkswagen GTI

Today on our 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI, we will be doing a test fit of the Whispbar Roof Rack Mounted Ski and Snowboard Carrier. It's going to be part number WB-300. As you can see, we've already got one up here mounted on our vehicle, and we're going to show you how to mount the other one on. We'll make sure that our straps are undone on both sides, and that the inside wingnuts that you see here are loose. Let's go ahead and place it up there. Then, we'll go ahead and bring the strap around. You can use the red knob to loosen and tighten it by simply spinning it either direction. We're going to bring it up and clip it on.



Yakima RocketBox Pro Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Volkswagen GTI

Today on our 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI we will be doing a test fit of the Yakima RocketBox. This is going to be your Pro 11. It has 11 feet of cubic storage space on the inside, and it will be part number Y07193. We'll go ahead and turn it around and get it put up on the vehicle. Couple things I want to point out once we do get it up here, is that you're going to want to make sure that all your feet are opened up underneath. Once that you have it where you want it, go ahead and set it down. Then we'll adjust it by sliding it backwards.



Rola Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Volkswagen GTI

Today on our 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI, we'll be doing a test fit of the Rola roof basket. This is going to be your 52 inches long by 40 inches wide, 6 inches deep with a steel construction and a 130 pound weight capacity. It's going to be part number 59504. As you can see, we also have it mounted onto our Yakima round bars. It will fit just about any kind of bar system that you may have whether it be your square bars, even your aero blades or aero style bars. Let's go ahead and show you how to put the last foot pack on since we've already put three on there. These will be your parts for it.



Pro Series Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Volkswagen GTI

Today on our 2015 Volkswagon Golf GTI, we'll doing a test fit of the Pro Series Big Sky Rooftop Mounted Cargo Basket. As you can see, we've already got it up here on our round bars. It's going to be 43 inches long by 35 inches wide and have a 135-pound weight capacity in a sturdy steel construction. It's going to be Part Number PS63156. We already got three legs on it and we'll go ahead and show you how to do the last set. You'll have metal bracket, a metal U-shape bracket.



Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Volkswagen GTI

Today, on our 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI, we'll be doing a test fit of the Swagman trail head. This will your hanging style four bike rack, for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. It's going to be part number S63380. With this class 1 receiver that we have here today, which is 1-1/4", it's only going to be able to hold a max capacity of two bikes on this four bike rack. Let's go ahead and plug it into our receiver that we have here. Once you get it inserted, let's go ahead and line up our pinholes and insert our anti-rattle bolt. This anti-rattle bolt's going to help to eliminate a lot of the sway, rattle, and wobble that we may have in our bike carrier.



Thule Roof Rack Review - 2015 Volkswagen GTI

Today on our 2015 Volkswagen GTI, we will testing the Thule AeroBlade Rapid Traverse roof rack system using parts number THARB53 for the 53-inch aluminum load bars, front and rear, and part number TH480R for the foot pack, and part number THKIT1710 for the for fit kit as you see here. So to begin our test fit, I'll go ahead and show you how to put our foot pack together. What you want to do is you want to open this up like so. We'll grab our pad, we'll place it on bottom. I'm going to go ahead and push that together for a nice tight fit for the front and the back there as you can see. Once we get that on, we'll go ahead and grab our clip. We'll go ahead and slide that up in place until it locks in there.



Glacier Square-Link Snow Tire Chains Review - 2015 Volkswagen GTI

All right. Today on this 2015 Volkswagen GTI, we're going to install part number PWPLC1138. This is a glacier square length snow tire chains. All right. Now, we have one of the chains installed already on the passenger side of our vehicle. We're going to take a look and see how it fits on the tire. First off, how they're supposed to fit is that you see the two little hooks right here.



Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Volkswagen GTI - Curt

Today on this 2015 Volkswagen GTI, we're going to install part number C11355. This is a Curt inch and a quarter Class I Custom Fit Receiver Hitch. All right, this is what the hitch looks like once it's installed on a GTI. Next we'll go ahead and give you some measurements that will help you out in selecting some accessories such as a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground is going to be about eight and a quarter inches. From the center of the hitch pin to the edge of the bumper will be about five and three-quarter inches. Now we'll go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed.



Thule Sonic XXL Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Volkswagen GTI

Today, on our 2015 Volkswagen GTI, we'll be test fitting the Thule Sonic XXL Rooftop Cargo Box. This box offers 22 cubic feet of space. It comes in a nice metallic silver finish. With our Thule load bars already installed on our vehicle, we can go ahead and place this on top. What you want to do is you want to make sure you have your clamps open, ready to go. We'll go ahead and slide that on. Another thing is we want to make sure is that our box is slid all the way forward just to make sure we have enough ...



Thule Sonic Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Volkswagen GTI

Today on our 2015 Volkswagen GTI, we will be test fitting the Thule Sonic large rooftop cargo box. It offers 11 cubic feet of space. It's part number is TH634B and it comes in a nice glossy black finish. We can go ahead and start, we can go ahead and throw our box on top with our Thule Aeroblades already installed. We'll want to go ahead and line up where our clamps will go over our bars. We'll go ahead and center that up with our vehicle and we'll make sure that our box is all the way forward to make sure we have enough clearance for our rear hatch to open. We'll go ahead and unlock it.



Thule Pulse Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Volkswagen GTI

Today, on our 2015 Volkswagen GTI, we will be test filling the Thule Pulse Large Rooftop Cargo Box. That's part number TH614. It offers 14 cubic feet of space and it comes in a nice black matte finish. With our Thule arrowblades already installed on our vehicle, we can go ahead and set our box on top. We'll want to line up our slits for our clamps here. Slide that on. We'll leave it like that.



Thule Pulse Alpine Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Volkswagen GTI

Today on our 2015 Volkswagen GTI we will be test fitting the Thule Pulse Alpine Rooftop Cargo Box. That's part number TH613. It offers 11 cubic feet of space. It has a nice matte black finish. With our Thule AeroBlades already installed on our vehicle we can go ahead and place our cargo box on top. We'll go ahead and line it up where our clamps are going to come out, as you can see there. Once we get that lined up, one other thing we'll want to go ahead and favor this side of the vehicle since this is the only side that our cargo box opens up.
