Thule MOAB Roof Top Cargo Basket Review - 2008 Mercury Mariner

Today on our 2008 Mercury Mariner, well be test fitting the Thule Mother of all Baskets Rooftop Cargo Carrier part number TH690XT. To install the cargo carrier fit it on your crossbars and put it in line with your vehicle. Once you have it the way that you would like it situated, swing the clamps under the crossbars and tighten them down using the gray twist knob. Once you have all four clamps secured, go ahead and fit the covers over each clamp. Our cargo carrier is installed and it's ready to go. That completes our test fit for the Thule Mother of all Baskets Rooftop Cargo Carrier part number TH690XT on our 2008 Mercury Mariner.



Thule Domestique Roof Bike Rack Review - 2008 Mercury Mariner

Today on our 2008 Mercury Mariner we're going to test fit the Thule Domestique Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number th513. To install this product we'll lay the carrier on top of our crossbars and fit the front clamp around the front bar. We'll use the included Allen key to tighten down our clamp and once the front clamp is secured we can put our skewer back in place. We'll fit the rear clamp around the rear bar and again use the Allen key to tighten it down. With the front and rear of the bike rack secured to the vehicle we're now ready to load up our bike. We'll undo the wheel strap at the back of the wheel tray, pick the bike up and set the rear wheel into the tray and position the front fork into the skewer.



Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Mercury Mariner

Today on our 2008 Mercury Mariner we'll be installing the tow package wiring harness with four pole trailer connector from Draw-Tite, part number 118251. Now we'll be installing this in conjunction with the four terminal relays, part number TR38665. To being we'll go ahead and install our four pole harness. Underneath the vehicle here on the drivers side at the read bumper we'll go ahead and locate the factory plug here. Now we'll need to remove the covering from the plug so we'll go ahead and detach it from the body of the vehicle and unplug the harness. Now that we've exposed the plug we can take our new four pole and clip it into the plug here on our factory harness.



Blue Ox Base Plate Installation - 2011 Mercury Mariner

Today on our 2011 Mercury Mariner well be installing the Blue Ox Baseplate kit with removable arms, part number bx2605. Now after opening the hood on our Mariner, well take our 10 mm socket and remove the bolts from the top corners of the grill, youll need to do this on both sides of the grill. Well now raise the vehicle up and just forward of the front tires on the inside rear well well remove the three push pins; again well need to do this on both sides of the vehicle. Well then continue down to the front under bottom opening. Well need to remove these push pins; there are two on this securing the fascia to the bumper itself. Now underneath the vehicle well need to use our 10 mm socket again to remove the seven bolts from underneath the fascia, there are two here attached to the inner fender wells on either side and then there are three more attaching the fascia to the core support.





Rain-X Latitude Wiper Blades Installation - 2011 Mercury Mariner

Today on our 2011 Mercury Mariner, we'll be installing the Rain-X Latitude Windshield Wiper Blades, Part Number RX5079277. Now, the 2011 Mercury Mariner will take two 20 inch beam style blades. The contoured beam style frame applies uniform pressure along the entire length of the blade, which will create a streak-free wipe and ensure even wear along the blade. The heavy-duty graphite coated rubber edge delivers smooth, noiseless wiping action even in freezing conditions; and it's aerodynamic design reduces wind drag, noise and lift at high speeds. Now to install our Latitude Wiper Blades, we'll need to remove the factory blades. To do this, we'll pinch the two knobs here on the blade together.



Husky Front and Rear Floor Liners Review - 2011 Mercury Mariner

Today on our 2011 Mercury Mariner, we'll be installing the Husky Liners' WeatherBeater Custom Model Floor Liners for both the front and rear, in black, part number HL98351. Now, this kit is also available in gray, part number HL98352, as well as tan, part number HL98353. Now, these custom molded floor liners contour perfectly to fit your Mercury Mariner. There are semi-rigid matte which helps them maintain their shape for superior coverage. You'll notice the raised containment walls which will keep messes from seeping over the edges of the liners and onto your carpet. Now, this kit is a three-piece kit.



Thule XB16 Snow Tire Chains Review - 2011 Mercury Mariner

Today on our 2011 Mercury Mariner well be test fitting the Thule standard snow tire chains for SUVs, part number TH01571245. Now, to install our chain well take it out of the packaging and lay it out on the ground and make sure we get out any kinks or knots in the chain itself. Once weve done that well take our tire chains and run the blue cable from the back toward the front of the vehicle, around our tire. Well then grab both ends of the blue cable and bring them up to the 12 oclock position where we can connect the two together. Well then allow the blue cable to roll back behind the tire where well make sure our chains are centered on the tire tread. Here on the front of the tire at the 12 oclock position well take the red chain link and the red hook and connect the two together.



Glacier Square-Link Snow Tire Chains Review - 2011 Mercury Mariner

Today on our 2011 Mercury Mariner well be test fitting the Glacier Square Link snow tire chains, part number PWPLC1142, with tire size P225 65R17. To begin installing our chains well remove the chains from the packaging and lay them out flat. Well make sure we get any tangles out of the chains. Once weve done that well drape our chains over the tire, making sure that the cross chain links hook is facing toward the outside. Well move to the inside of the tire, where well connect the two ends of the side chain together, taking out as much of the slack within the side chain as possible.Well then move to the outside of the tire. Well feed the side chain link through the cam tensioner, again making sure that we take out as much of the slack as possible, and hook it to the chain link here attached to our side chain.



Rain-X Latitude Wiper Blades Installation - 2008 Mercury Mariner

Today we are working with our 2008 Mercury Mariner and we are going to show you how to install a set of rain-x latitude wipers. For this vehicle we have a pair of the 20-inch wiper blades part number RX5079277. First, well open up the packaging; pull out our wiper blade and our different adaptor clips. Now theres one clip preinstalled on the blade but we wont be using that with our Mariner. To remove it well leave the blade on its side, lift up on this tab and slide the clip off. Our 2008 Mariner has the IML arm so this is the connector that we are going to need.



Yakima FrontLoader Roof Bike Rack Review - 2008 Mercury Mariner

Today we have a 2008 Mercury Mariner and were going to be test fitting the Yakima FrontLoader Roof Mounted Bike Carrier part number Y02103. Our mariner is equipped with a full factory roof rack so were going to mount the FrontLoader directly to the factory crossbars. Well take the carrier and set it on top of our crossbars. Well fit the head of our bike carrier around the front crossbar and use the hand knob to tighten the clamp down. Then well take the clamp in the rear and slide it over our rear crossbar then well use the T bolt and included wing nut to tighten it down. With that done our bike rack is secured to our roof rack and were ready to load up a bike.



Yakima ForkLift Roof Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2008 Mercury Mariner

Today we have a 2008 Mercury Mariner and were going to be test fitting the Yakima Forklift Roof Mounted Bike Carrier part number Y02098. Now our mariner is equipped with a full factory roof rack so were going to mount our forklift directly to the factory crossbars. To do this well remove the skewer from the head of the bike rack first. Well open up the clamp at the head of the bike rack and fit it around our front crossbar then well tighten it down with the T bolt and wing nut, slide the cover back into place and then we can reinstall our skewer. At the back well need to slide the clamp over our rear crossbar and again, well tighten it down with a T bolt and wing nut. Now were ready to load a bike.



Thule SUP Taxi Stand-Up Paddleboard Carrier Review - 2008 Mercury Mariner

Today we have a 2008 Mercury Mariner and were going to be test fitting the Thule SUP Taxi Stand-Up Paddleboard Carrier part number TH810. Our mariner is equipped with a full factory roof rack so were going to mount the Thule SUP Taxi directly to the factory crossbars. To do this well take half of the carrier and set it up on top of the front crossbar. Well feed the speed link straps around the crossbar and back into the heads. Then we use the hand knobs to tighten down the straps. Next well take the second half of the carrier and place it on top of the rear crossbar.



Swagman Fork Down Roof Bike Rack Review - 2008 Mercury Mariner

Today, we have with us a 2008 Mercury Mariner and we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Fork Style Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number S64710. Our Mariner is already equipped with a full factory roof rack so we're going to attach our fork down directly to our factory crossbars. We'll place the bike rack up on top of our crossbars. At the front, we'll fit two U-bolts around our crossbars and use the wing nuts to secure the front of the bike rack. Next, we'll move to the back of the bike carrier. We'll fit the U-bolt through the carrier from the top.



RockyMounts TieRod Roof Bike Rack Review - 2008 Mercury Mariner

Today on our 2008 Mercury Mariner, we're going to be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number RKY1014. Our Mariner is equipped with a factory roof rack so we're going to mount the RockyMounts TieRod directly to the factory crossbars. We'll lift up the carrier and set it on top of our crossbars. We'll feed the straps at the head of the bike carrier around our front bar, lock them back into the head and use an Allen key to tighten them down. Then we can reinstall the cover on the head of the bike rack. At the back, we'll use the clamp and two wing nuts to secure the rear of the bike rack to our rear crossbar.



Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 Mercury Mariner

Today on this 2011 Mercury Mariner we are going to install Part Number 118551 from Tow Ready. The first thing we need to do is go ahead and remove the two tail lights. We are going to disconnect them from the wire harness and then we are also going to grab it on the inside and pull it apart. The next thing we will do is go ahead and remove the interior components. We will remove the floor covering and also remove the threshold. We will loosen up the side panel on the drivers side and remove the panel on the passenger side.



Trailer Hitch Installation - 2011 Mercury Mariner - Hidden Hitch

Today on this 2011 Mercury Mariner were going to install part #: 87585 from Hidden Hitch. alright, this is what the hitch looks like when its installed on the vehicle. Next well give you some measurements that will help you out with selecting some accessories. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the edge of the bumper is going to be about 2 inches, and from the top of the receiver opening down to the ground were looking at 16 and a quarter inches. Now well go ahead and show you how the hitchs installed. Alright, first step involved is to go ahead and lower the exhaust, lets spray down the hangers a little bit to make it a little easier to remove so this one bolt we need access to.

Thule Flat Top Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2011 Mercury Mariner

Today we have with us a 2011 Mercury Mariner and were going to be test fitting the Thule Flat Top ski and snowboard carrier, part #: TH92725. To mount the carrier well take the first half and set it up on top of our front bar. Well feed the rubber coated steel straps on our speedling system around the bar and back into the head of the clamp. Well use the gray wing knobs to tighten each strap down on the driver and passenger side. Once weve done that we can take the second half of the carrier and repeat the process on the rear bar. Now were ready to load up our skis and snowboard.



Thule Domestique Roof Bike Rack Review - 2011 Mercury Mariner

Today on our 2011 Mercury Mariner were going to test fit the Thule Domestique roof mounted bike carrier part #: TH513. Weve already got our bike carrier put together and now were ready to mount it up on the vehicle. Well lay the carrier up on top of our bars and fit the front clamp around the front bar. Well use the included alan key to tighten down our clamp and once the front clamp is secured we can put our skewer back into place. Well fit the rear clamp around the rear bar and again use the alan key to tighten it down. With that our bike rack is secured to the vehicle and now were ready to load our bike.



RockyMounts TieRod Roof Bike Rack Review - 2011 Mercury Mariner

Today we have with us a 2011 Mercury Mariner and well be test fitting the Rocky Mounts TIerod part #: RKY1014. We already have our bike carrier assembled according to the instructions and now were ready to fit it up on our roof rack. Well set the bike rack up on top of our bars. Well feed the rubber coated steel bands around the front bar, reattach them to the head and use the included alan key to tighten them down. Once weve done that we can put the cover back into place. At the rear of the bike rack well fit the clamp around the rear bar and use the wing nuts to tighten it down.



AFE Air Filter Installation - 2008 Mercury Mariner

Today on our 2008 Mercury Mariner we'll be installing the AFE Air Filter, part number AFE31-10065. After opening up the package and confirming everything is correct in there we're ready to go ahead and install it into our vehicle. After the hood is open on this Mariner we'll go ahead and undo the two clasps that hold the air filter lid in place. We can then simply peel it off and bring the air filter out the top. With the old air filter removed, we'll simply take the new AFE air filter and slide it back into position in the box and bring it back down into place. You'll notice that the AFE air filter does come with a "do not discard" sticker.



Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2009 Mercury Mariner

Today on this 2009 Mercury Mariner were going to install the tow-ready T1 connectors, part number 118551. Our first step is to access the rear cargo area of the vehicle. This will expose the two fasteners that hold on the taillights. Lets go ahead and remove those screws on each side now. Once we have our mounting screws removed we can gently pull and pry the taillight lens assembly away from the body of the vehicle. This will expose us to the rear taillight wires.



Trailer Hitch Installation - 2009 Mercury Mariner

Today on this 2009 Mercury Mariner were gonna install a Hidden Hitch part number 87585. This will also be comparable to a Draw-Tite Hitch part number 75693.Here are a couple of measurements that will assist you in selecting accessories for you new hitch. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost point of the bumper is 2 inches and from the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 15 inches. Now lets go ahead with the installation.Weve got a total of 6 fastening points, three on each side. We got two at the side of the frame and one at the bottom. Ok, before we put our hitch in place, were gonna need to install our hardware were installing the 7/16 carriage bolt, a block using our pole wire.



Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2007 Mercury Mariner

Today on this 2007 Mercury Mariner were going to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, part number 90885. To wire up this brake controller, we will also be installing the etbc7 kit. Alright to get started were going to take our bracket and a bolt to the hitch, and the bracket that will hold our 7 pole connector and screw them together. This is approximately where we are going to mount our bracket. Go ahead and take some clippers and cut off these zip ties to free up the wiring so it is not in our way. Now we can go ahead and take our band clamp and attach our bracket to the hitch.



WeatherTech Front Floor Liners Review - 2008 Mercury Mariner

Today on this 2008 Mercury Mariner were going to be installing a set of WeatherTech floor mats for the front, part number wt441191. WeatherTech Core Liners are made with a high density triextruded material. Its rigid for strength but also provides traction and grip against the carpet of your vehicle. They are custom molded to fit the contours of the floor board of your vehicle. There are channels molded into the floor liner that help divert fluid and debris away from the edges toward the center of the liner. The liners are also easy to clean by removing from the vehicle and hosed down with soapy water.



Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Mercury Mariner

Today we are working on a 2007 Mercury Mariner; we are going to install a tow ready T-One Connector part number 118430. Our first step is going to be accessing the rear cargo door of the vehicle. We are going to remove the tail light assemblies, and there is two fasteners holding it on. Once you remove the two fastener screws, gently pull and pry the tail light assembly away from the vehicle as there are several locking tabs behind that hold the tail light in place. As you can see the locking tabs here. Now Im going to go ahead and disconnect the tail light wiring from the sockets.



Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Mercury Mariner

Today we are working on a 2007 Mercury Mariner. Were going to install a Valley Hitch part number V82211. There are a couple of measurements that will assist you for selecting measurements for your new hitch such as a draw bar, bike rack, or cargo carrier. From the center of the pin hitch hole is approximately 1 inch to the outer most part of the bumper. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 14 inches. Now lets go ahead with the installation.



Swagman Powder Top Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review

Today we are going to take a look at Swagmans Roof Mounted 6 Ski or 4 Snowboard Carrier, part number S65100. This carrier is designed to hold up to 6 pairs of skis or 4 snowboards. This is half of our carrier system. We already have the other half installed up on our vehicle. On the end here you will find a large latch.



Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2009 Mercury Mariner

Today on this 2009 Mercury Mariner we are going to be installing a Thule AeroBlade and Rapid Crossroad roof rack system. We will be using the 43 inch AeroBlade bar part number THARB43 and the Thule Rapid Crossroad feet part number TH450R. We already have our crossbar assemblies put together and we are ready to mount them up on the vehicle. We will place the crossbar assembly on top of our factory raised side rails. We will check both sides to make sure the crossbar is overhanging evenly on either side and we will also measure the feet to make sure they are spaced evenly on either side so that the crossbar runs perpendicular to our raised side rails. You will also want to make sure that the arrow mark in the center of your crossroad feet is pointed toward the center of your side rail bar. The arrow will help you to make sure you have the Crossroad positioned properly on top of your side rails. Now that we have the crossbar into position where we need it we can go ahead and tighten the system down. The Crossroad foot pack utilizes a steel band that is coated in rubber that is designed to wrap around your factory raised side rails. As you tighten the steel band the Crossroad foot will lock onto your side rail and it will also lock your crossbar into position. We will move back and forth from the driver side to the passenger side to make sure that we tighten down the system evenly and we do not lose our positioning. Once we have our front crossbar set we are ready to mount the rear. 1:23



Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2008 Mercury Mariner

Today, on this 2008 Mercury Mariner, we are going to be installing a Thule Rapid Crossroad Roof Rack System, with the AeroBlade Bars. We already have our crossbar assemblies put together, now we are ready to mount them on our vehicle. We will position our crossbars on top of our vehicle. First, we will make sure that the overhang of the crossbars is even from side to side. Then, we will make sure that we have them set at the same spot on either side of the vehicle, so that the bars are running perpendicular to our factory raised side rails. Once we have our crossbar in place, we can begin tightening it down.The rapid crossroad feet use a rubber coated steel band that wraps around our factory side rails. As we tighten the steel band down, the crossroad foot locks onto our side rail and it also secures the bar into place into the crossroad foot. We will move back and forth from the drivers side to the passengers side as we tighten down to make sure the crossbar tightens down evenly.

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation- 2007 Mercury Mariner

Today on this 2007 Mercury Mariner we are going to be install Curt wiring harness part number 56067. At the rear of the vehicle we want to locate the ports that we will be plugging our wiring harness into. These ports are located directly behind the tail light assembly on both the driver and passenger side. The first thing we want to do is remove the tail light from the vehicle. You can see on the inboard side we have two Phillip head screws. :22



Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Mercury Mariner

Today on this 2007 Mercury Mariner we are going to be installing Hidden Hitch part number 87585. This installation will also apply to Draw-Tite hitch part number 75693. We are underneath the vehicle. The first thing I have done is lowered the spare tire out of our way to give us a little bit more working room. Over here on the passenger side the instructions do not indicate this but I am going to lower the exhaust down as well. It is going to give us a little bit more working room. There are two hangers here that I am going to be lowering the exhaust off of. One here at the rear and one just forward of the muffler itself. To remove the exhaust off of its hangers we are going to take a spray lubricant like a WD-40 and spray the studs down. Then we can take a pry bar or a pair of pliers and separate the two pieces. Now with the exhaust lowered we can point out the mounting holes we are going to be using to attach the hitch to the vehicle. 00:45
