Then, we'll take the two ends of the blue cable, pulling them to the top of the tire towards the back, connecting the two ends, feeding the J-hook into the locking mechanism. Next, we'll take the tire chain, bringing it out towards the front of the tire, draping it over the tire. Then, we'll take the red chain hook and red link, connecting the two at the top of the tire. Then, move to the bottom of the tire and take our cable, feed it through the pulley tensioner, and pull it tight, securing the bottom of the tire chain.

Trailer Hitch Installation - 1992 Lincoln Town Car

Today we are going to be installing hitch part number 36116 on a 1992 Lincoln Town Car. We are underneath the vehicle now and we will go ahead an point out the attaching points for the hitch. You can see we are looking at the passengers side frame rail. The hitch is actually going to be clamped to this frame rail and we are going to have to drill out all four of the holes that are going to be the attaching points for the hitch. So the first step is to get the hitch clamped up into position. Now that we have got the clamp hitched up into position we are going to go ahead and drill out the forward-most holes, which will allow us to put the bolts through and hold it up into place. And then we can remove our clamps and drill out the rear-most holes. OK, now that I have got the forward-most holes drilled on both sides, I am going to go ahead and put the bolt and block into place - again, to hold the hitch up into position so I can release the clamps and drill out the rear-most holes. And we are going to use the fish wire that was provided in the installation kit. And we just want to feed that through the hole that we just drilled, out through this large hole at the end of the frame. And then we just slide our block onto the fish wire and wrap the thread to the bolt with the fish wire. And this will allow us to pull both the block and the bolt through the frame and into position. And we attach that with the conical-tooth washer and nut. OK, I am going to go ahead and do that for the other side as well.

- What is the Maximum Speed Limit when Using Snow Tire Chains
- When tire chains are installed we recommend not exceeding 40 miles per hour (lower if the speed limit is lower). Also, some vehicle owners manuals state a specific speed when chains are in place so you will want to look at the owners manual for your 2005 Lincoln Town Car.
When I searched for a 2005 Lincoln Town Car through our fit guide Thule chains # TH01594240 did not come up as a fit for tire size 225/60-17. I have included a link to the chains that do fit that size tire. If you have a dif

- Using the Boss Tilt Down Motorcycle Carrier on a 1997 Lincoln Town Car
- I would not recommend using the Boss Tilt Down Motorcycle Carrier on your 1997 Lincoln Town Car. From the research I have done, your vehicle probably has a maximum tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs. Once you add the weight of the motorcycle carrier and weight of the item you are carrying you will probably exceed the limit of 200 lbs.
I would recommend checking your owners manual for the tongue weight and trailer weight capacity of your vehicle and looking into a small trailer.

- If you need the chains for a 2002 Lincoln Town Car with 225/60R16 tires, the chains that you have referenced, # PWPLC1142 are not recommended.
The correct chains that are the same model but will fit your tire size is part # PWPLC1138. The cross chain length is 12-3/4 inches long including the hooks. The side chain is 70 inches long. With these chains I recommend rubber adjusters # PW100 to make installation and adjustment easier.
The cross chain length, including the hooks, is 14-1/2 inche

- By looking over the instructions for Hidden Hitch Trailer Hitch, # 87408, since the bracket already has to be rotated 180 degrees, also moving it to the outboard side of the frame rail may make it so that it will no longer be able to reach the exhaust that hangs from it. There may also be too much space between the hitch and frame with the hanger moved to the outboard side of the frame.

- Where to Mount the Derale Dual-Pass Heat Sink Transmission Cooler and How Does It Compare
- The heat sink coolers like the Derale Dual-Pass Heat Sink Transmission Cooler, item # D13266, do not perform nearly as well as the traditional style coolers. These coolers have a single large cavity and do not force the liquid through a number of small cavities as a tube or plate and fin style cooler would. In comparison the heat sink style would not perform as well as the smallest plate and fin style transmission cooler.
For your Town Car I would recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin T

- The hitch will not interfere with the air ride system in your 2004 Lincoln Town Car. What you do need to be aware of is the vehicle towing capacity. A hardware kit can be purchased by ordering part # RHK, and typing Draw-Tite in the manufacturer field and 36116 in the part number field.
