Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2001 Isuzu Rodeo

Today on our 2001 Isuzu Rodeo well be installing Tow-Ready T1 Connector part number 118360. To begin our installation, well need to remove the taillights from the vehicle. Well remove the Phillips head screw directly underneath the taillight between the taillight and the bumper fascia. We can then remove the two Phillips head screws here on the side of the taillight. And with those three Phillips head removed, the taillight simply come right off. We can then go ahead and unplug the taillight assembly from the vehicle.

Today on our 2001 Isuzu Rodeo well be installing Curt hitch part number C13222. Before we go ahead with our installation here are a few measurements. From the top of the hitch opening to the ground is 18-1/4 inches and the center of the hitch pin hole is approximately 2 inches from the bumper. This will help you when selecting accessories such as a draw bar, a cargo carrier or a bike rack. Now lets go ahead with our installation. Now weve already gone ahead and removed our spare tire from the vehicle so now were ready to locate our attachment points.

The port is tucked up right here, but we popped it out so you can see it better. This is a pretty simple process, just go ahead and push this down, pull it out, get your T connector, line up the slots and pop it back in there. The hard part is finding a place where you want to mount it to get it out of the way. What well do is use this screw that goes through this hole here. Hold it to where you want it, make a few marks with it and then draw the marks. We then drill a hole and re-attach the screw.

The Hitch mounts to the side of the bumper brackets and will have a cross member that bolts on between the two brackets. They will mount on the side here and then a bracket will go across. First well install the brackets and then worry about the cross member

- The Draw-Tite Hitch # 75093 that you referenced would work well on your 2002 Isuzu Rodeo as long as it has an under vehicle wheel spare. If you have a door mounted spare you would want a Curt Hitch # C13235.
