The SideWinder fork mount makes loading your tandem bike onto a roof rack an easy, one-man operation. So now that you's done all the pedaling, let your riding partner enjoy stowing the bike.

SideWinder operates with a swing-out skewer arm, allowing you to mount the fork first with the bike still on the ground. The arm engages with a top-mounted knob and rotates away from the vehicle for easy access.

Once the bike fork is secure, all you have to do is lift the frame into the adjustable boom cradle. The swing-out arm reduces the weight of the tandem rack as you load it onto your vehicle. The padded cradle firmly grips your bike frame with ratcheting straps and protects bottom-mounted cables.

SideWinder comes with a strap to hold your handlebars in place during transport, providing added stability.

The SKS-lockable skewer holds your bike firmly in place on the fork block, securing with a quick-release lever. You can adjust the skewer - tighter or looser - with one hand by turning the knob hidden inside the lever cover.

For added security, you can lock the carrier to your crossbars by replacing the hand knobs (hex keys) on the bottom of the mounting brackets with up to four Yakima Accessory Lock Housings (Y07220), which require purchase of additional SKS Cores.
SideWinder installs on your vehicle with no tools and fits both round and square roof-rack crossbars. The carrier will not interfere with most hatchbacks or flip-up rear doors and is compatible with most bikes that have disc brakes.
