Thule Transporter Combi Hitch Mounted Enclosed Cargo Carrier
The Thule Transporter Combi Hitch Mounted Enclosed Cargo Carrier is a rugged yet affordable hitch mounted cargo carrier with a great look and great price. The carrier simply slides into existing 1-1/4" (Class II only) or 2" receiver hitches and makes loading and unloading your gear easy and convenient as it's done at lower height. Having the carrier in the back of the vehicle is also more fuel efficient than a roof mounted carrier. With its tilt-down design, you can easily access the back of your vehicle in seconds. The carrier includes a lock to secure the items inside it. Included is a license plate light with holder and pre-wired taillights with a standard four-pin trailer connector ready to plug in and go. Carries up to 13 cu. ft. and 150 lbs. A plug/valve in the bottom of the cargo carrier makes clean up quick and easy.

The amount of storage capacity, and ease of use with this product is outstanding. Having this has enabled us to use the back of our SUV for the dogs and we have never run out of space yet. Easy to assemble, easy to use, kept our luggage dry in a snow storm, we are very happy we purchased this. We would however suggest getting the locking thule hitch pin, the bolt that comes with it works but you can't lock it and prevent theft of the whole unit without the lock.

Actual carrier lacked description for installation, but it seemed pretty straightforward. Completed and ready for a trip. Don't trust what the dealer says about the wiring hookup. Mine told me it wasn't there so I purchased the extra wiring kit. After following the instructions for some time, I discovered the factory installed harness underneath the vehicle to the left of receiver. Thankfully, etrailer is taking back the kit as I don't need it.

I bought one of these back in 2003. I've used it on my Saab wagon, T&C van and Mazda5. It is great for long trips. We just throw in the cargo we plan to use at the motel stops, and store most other destination baggage in the car or van. Great additional space for a travelling family of 5. I store it by hoisting it to the garage ceiling.
