Saved my as*!
Steve from West Chester, PA
I hooked-up the camper the other morning and started off to the lake. The first road I crossed that had a hump I hear and feel the camper come off the receiver ball and the tongue hit the ground. I wasn't going fast and no-one was behind me so I started to come to a stop. Well the camper wasn't slowing down at the same rate and it smashed into the hitch several times. When both TV (Tow Vehicle) and camper came to a stop, I got out to see what damage had been done. I guess I have not fully secured the receiver ball to the tongue and failed to test the connection. That's what happens when you rush. As luck would have it, I had just purchased and installed last week, a Hitch Bumper Guard from etrailer.com and I think that saved the TV's bumper. The guard was scratched and turned a bit, but it did it's job of protecting the TV's ass. The only other damage I could find was one of the quick-connects on the safety chains was bent and will have to be replaced. Thanks eTrailer.com, you saved my as*!
