Pintle Hitch with Balls
- A spring-loaded, double-engagement latch locks through the pintle sleeve for increased strength and reliability
- Both an automatic, rustproof latch lock and a manual safety pin ensure safe hookups
- Quick conversion from pintle hitch to ball hitch to clevis hitch without the need for tools
- Allowable pintle ring sizes:
- Inner diameter between 2-3/8" and 3"
- Maximum outer diameter of 6-3/8"
- Maximum ring cross section of 1-5/8"
Maximum trailer weight of 25,000 lbs when pintle is used. Balls are rated at maximum of 10,000 lbs. Maximum tongue weight of of 5,000 lbs.
Meets SAE standard J-847.
Has a standard, bolt-on pattern for bolting onto a flat surface (Pintle Mount) or one of the cushioned adapters. Includes stainless steel, three-ball, interchangeable ball system and pintle sleeve.
How it works;Removing the safety pin with latch and then pulling the silver knob (bottom left side of picture) allows you to unlock the rotating top of the pintle hitch. This double-locking feature offers peace of mind while you are towing a trailer with a lunette ring. Once the top is pushed to the side, the pintle sleeve can be removed and a normal hitch ball quickly added to enable you to pull a trailer with a standard coupler.
