Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Passat, well be test fitting the Curt 20x48 Cargo Carrier, part number C18145. Now to being our test fit, well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, align up our pinholes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pinholes and tighten with a wrench. Now well go over some clearance measurements to see how the cargo carrier and this vehicle will fit together. There is about 8 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. The closest part of the vehicle to the closet part of the carrier is about two inches and weve added about 21 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. That completes todays test fit for the Curt 20x48 Cargo Carrier, part number C18145 on our 2013 Volkswagen Passat.
Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Passat, we'll be test fitting the Thule Pulse Alpine rooftop cargo box with 11 cubic feet of space, matte black in color, part number TH613. Now with the roof rack system already assembled and onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the cargo box onto the vehicle's cross bars. We'll position the clamps over the cross bars, and turn the key to open the lid of the cargo box. Now that the four knobs are exposed, we can tighten them down, which will grip the cross bars, securing the Thule Pulse Alpine to the vehicle. Now this cargo box does open from one side, so we will be positioning the cargo box on the passenger side of the vehicle. This will allow us to easily load and unload our cargo.
Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Passat, well be test fitting the Thule Pulse Large Rooftop Cargo Box 14 Cubic Feet of Space Matte Black in Color, part number TH614. Now with the roof rack system already assembled onto our vehicle, well start off our test fit by placing the cargo box onto the vehicles crossbars. Now this rooftop cargo box does open from only one side, so well position the box favoring the passenger side of the vehicle. Well then turn the key to open up the lid of the cargo box to expose the four knobs, which control the clamps of the cargo box. Well position the clamps over the crossbars and tighten them down. Once theyre all tightened down the cargo box has been secured to the vehicles crossbars.
Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Passat, we'll be test fitting the Thule Moab, also known as the "Mother of all Baskets," part number TH690XT. Now with the roof rack system already assembled onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the cargo basket onto the vehicle's cross bars. For today's demonstration, we'll make sure the basket is centered onto the vehicle's cross bars. Note, this basket does not have to be centered, as you can carry other roof rack accessories as well as the basket at the same time. One our cargo basket is centered onto the vehicle, we can loosen up the brackets to bring the black bracket on the underside of the vehicle's cross bars. We'll then thread the bolt through the brackets and use the gray wing nuts to tighten it down to secure the cargo basket to the vehicle.
Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Passat, well be test fitting the Kuat Vagabond S Roof Mounted Cargo Basket, part number VX01. Now with the roof rack system already assembled on our vehicle, well begin our test fit by placing the cargo basket onto the vehicles crossbars. Well position the cargo basket onto the crossbars and place the first set of brackets, which rest on the cargo basket and the top part of the crossbar into position. Well place all four of them, well then take the round circular bracket, which is coated in rubber and the flat black metal bracket with the two wing nuts and well place that over the top of the cargo basket and underneath of the crossbar. Well then use the two black wing nuts to tighten it down to secure the carrier to the vehicle. Well then repeat these steps for all three of the other brackets.
Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Passat well be test fitting the Yakima Loadwarrior roof rack cargo basket, part number Y07070. To begin our test fit you may need to adjust the underside of the brackets to make sure that they fit the crossbar spread of the roof rack system. This is important to ensure a good solid fit to the crossbars. Well go ahead and hoist the basket on top of the crossbars, again to make sure and check that the brackets line up for the crossbar spread. Well swing the brackets around the underside of the crossbar and use the bolt and wing nut to tighten and bound and secure it in place. It is important to get the basket centered onto the vehicle to prevent excess wind noise and to get a secure fit onto the crossbars.
Today on our 2012 Volkswagen Passat, well be test fitting the Thule Mother of All Baskets Rooftop Cargo Carrier, part number TH690. To begin our test fit, well set the carrier on top of the crossbars and place it evenly on the crossbars. Well then swing the brackets on the bottom side of the crossbar and tighten them down with the wingnuts. Once we have all four of the brackets were ready to load up our basket. That completes todays test fit of the Thule Mother of All Baskets Rooftop Cargo Carrier, part number TH690 on our 2012 Volkswagen Passat. .
Today, we're working with the 2012 volkswagen Passat, and we'll be test fitting the Yakima Rocketbox Pro 14, part number y07192.We'll take our boxes, set it up ontop of the crossbars. We'll open the box from one side and then we'll make sure we fit the clamps below around our crossbars.Once we have the clamps fitted around our crossbar in the boxed position where we want it, we'll use the knobs inside to tighten it down. We can move over to the other side of the box as both sides will open to tighten down the clamps on the other side.With all four attachment points secured, our box is set up on our roof rack and ready to load up.That's it for our test fit of the Yakima Rocketbox Pro 14 roof top cargo box, part number y07192, on our 2012 Volkswagen Passat.
