Questions from Toyota 4Runner owners about this Bike Rack

  • As long as your Toyota 4Runners factory trailer hitch has a 2-inch receiver, you will have no problems using the Pro Series Eclipse 4 Bike Carrier # 63124. It tilts away from the vehicle so you can more easily access your rear cargo bay and features an anti-rattle device to cut down on noise while traveling. It also has a weight capacity of 120 lbs. I have provided links to the installation instructions and a video showing the installation of this rack on a 2012 Toyota 4Runner. While...

  • To determine if the Pro Series Eclipse 4 Bike Rack # 63124 would clear the rear spare of your 2013 Toyota 4Runner you need to take one simple measurement. You need to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole out to the furthest point out on the spare tire. If that measurement is less than 8 inches the # 63124 would work for you as this rack has a distance of 8 inches from the center of its pin hole to the upright bar of the rack. For a similar bike rack with more clearance...

  • The Tow Ready 4 Bike Hitch Mounted Folding Rack, item # 63124, should fit just fine on your 1999 Toyota 4Runner. The best way to be sure is to measure from the center of your hitch pin hole to the farthest back part of your vehicle. If the measurement you get is shorter than 8 inches then you are good to go. This rack is one of our best selling racks and gets great reviews from our customers.

Questions from Toyota 4Runner owners about this Bike Rack

  • An ideal solution for you would be to use a hitch mounted bike rack on your 2003 Toyota 4Runner that has a longer shank, so that your Yakima Holdup Bike Rack part # Y02443 will clear the spare. Another solution you have would be to use a hitch extender like part # HE06. This will provide you with 7 additional inches of clearance so that your bike rack would clear. The Thule T2 part # TH916XTR has 4 more inches of clearance from the pin hole to the first bike rail so it would...

  • Both the Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack # TH990XT and the Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack # S64670 are great racks that would do an excellent job on your 2007 Toyota 4Runner. The biggest advantage the Doubletrack has is that it can fold up on your hitch when not in use, also this rack includes locks whereas the Swagman requires you to purchase them separately, part # S64029. I attached review videos for both racks for you to check out as well.

Questions from Toyota 4Runner owners about this Bike Rack

  • The Fork Style Roof Mounted Bike Rack - Swagman Fork Down, # S64710, is designed to fit best with Thule (square bars) and most OEM factory cross bars (that run side to side). I spoke with my contact at Swagman and he stated that the width of the u-bolts used to secure the rack to the cross bars is 3-3/8 inches. As long as your cross bars are under that, the rack will fit your Toyota 4Runner. I have included a link to the installation details below.

This will fit your factory rack as long as the crossbars are not wider than 3-inches. We do offer many roof-mount bike racks that will fit most factory bars, and the link provided for you will let you see them. Toyota 4Runner Hitch Bike Racks Questions

  • The Thule Vertex # TH9030XT does not feature an eye ring to run a cable lock like part # TH538XT through. In all but extreme cases, securing all four bikes together and making a wrap or two around the mast of the carrier would offer sufficient deterrence against theft. Keep in mind that the purpose of a lock is to keep honest folks honest. A determined thief will get what they want despite any precautions taken. The idea is to make the crook move on to easier pickings.

  • The arms of the Softride Dura, # SR26247 do not fold, but they are easily and quickly removable. Both the Element and the Dura use a spring loaded pull pin that remains in place. It does not need to be completely removed and reinserted. A cable lock that would retro-fit to the Element is not available, but we have several cable type bike locks available, like the Master Lock Python, part # 8428DPS that would work well with the Element.
