Need a base rack?

What our customers are saying:

First off I was having trouble finding a 2inch hitch for my Hyundai Tucson which was needed for my hitch mount bike rack. Your company and one other came up in the search results. Your price was best, shipping was inexpensive, and you shipped immediately. I am not a very big person so my boyfriend helped me install it. We gathered all the right tools and had it installed in 25 minutes. It looks like it came with the car. Thank you!

Questions from Subaru Outback Wagon owners about this product

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for Carrying 4 Adult Bikes in a Class II Hitch on a 2006 Subaru Outback
  • We have several recommendations for a 4 bike rack that will work in the Class II hitch on your 2006 Subaru Outback Wagon and allow you to carry 4 bikes that weigh 135lbs total. The Thule Vertex 4 Bike Carrier, # TH9029, that you referenced is capable of carrying up to 140 lbs and will fit in all 1-1/4 inch trailer hitches. If you wanted a little more wiggle room on the weight capacity you could use the Thule Apex 4 Bike Carrier, # TH9025, which is rated for carrying up to 150 lbs and will als

Questions from Subaru Outback Wagon owners about this product

  • Ground Clearance on the Thule T2 Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack on a 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon
  • Because of the way the Thule T2, # TH916XTR, is designed, there is actually a rise of 4-3/4 inches from the top of the receiver opening on the trailer hitch to the bottom of the nearest platform. The rack angles up even more towards the back and the bottom of the furthest end from the receiver is 3/4 inches higher. Based on this rise you will not have to worry too much about ground clearance unless you are on steep grades or go over severe bumps or dips. I have included a link to the inst

  • Will the Thule T2 Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack Fit a 2012 Subaru Outback Wagon
  • The Thule T2, # TH916XTR, will fold, it just depends on how much clearance there is between the rack and the vehicle it is on. In order to determine if the bike rack will fit when folded on your 2012 Subaru Outback, there is one important measurement you will need to take. Measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on the Outback to the distance required to clear the rear bumper of the vehicle. If that distance is less than 4-1/2 inches, the rack will fit when folded. The distance from the

Questions from Subaru Outback Wagon owners about this product

  • Will the Thule Doubletrack Bike Rack # TH990XT Fit on a 2011 Subaru Outback and How to Install Bikes
  • Yes, the Thule Doubletrack Bike Rack, # TH990XT, should work nicely on your 2011 Subaru Outback. We installed the Hidden Hitch Trailer Hitch, # 87568, on a 2011 Outback and measured the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the farthest part of the rear bumper, see end of video, and got 7 inches. The Doubletrack rack measures 7-1/2 inches, see attached photo, to the closest part of the rack, so you will need to take that measurement on the hitch that is installed on your Outback. If

Questions from Subaru Outback Wagon owners about this product

  • Can a Trunk Mount Bike Rack be Used on a 2005 Subaru Outback Wagon
  • For your 2005 Subaru Outback Wagon, using a hatch mounted bike carrier is not recommended because the vehicle is unable to support the weight of the carrier. I would recommend a trailer hitch and hitch mounted bike rack. For the Outback wagon you can use the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch, # 75560. For a bike rack the Thule Vertex 2 Bike Carrier, # TH9028, would be a good choice and will also allow you to access the rear of your vehicle without removing the rack, like a trunk mounted ra

Thule recommends running the support straps over the spoiler and tested this method and found that the spoiler is strong enough for this. Questions from Subaru Outback Wagon owners about this product

  • Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon
  • Yes, the Thule Raceway 3 Bike Carrier, # TH9002, will work great on your 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon. I recently had the chance to install this rack on a vehicle and it is the easiest to install and remove trunk mount rack that I have used. For this reason, this is the rack I personally would choose for a trunk mount rack. You will need to remove the rack to open the rear of the vehicle because the bottom support on the rack will rest on the top of the bumper when properly installed, see instru

  • Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2007 Subaru Outback Wagon
  • The 2007 Subaru Outback Wagon cannot accept a trunk mount bike rack because of the spoiler. It will interfere with the safe installation of a bike rack. I recommend using a trailer hitch and hitch mount bike rack. For your Outback, you can use trailer hitch # 87446 (excludes Sport models). I have included links to the instructions and a video showing installation. For a bike rack, I recommend the Swagman Titan, # S63405. It comes with anti-sway cradles and an integrated cable lock. Since your roof has the rails that run from the front to the rear of the vehicle, cross bars can be added by using the Yakima RailGrab towers and load bars, part # Y00140.
