The hitch you are interested in has a 200 lb tongue weight capacity, which means that the rack and the bikes placed upon it cannot weigh more than 200 lbs. The rack itself has a 100 lb capacity.

You do not want to have any holes drilled into the shank of a rack because it can actually weaken the shank. Also, with a Class I trailer hitch, you are limited to carrying 2 bikes maximum even if the rack can hold more.

- Trunk Mount Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2009 Subaru Forester and 2011 Subaru WRX
- For the 2009 Subaru Forester, you have numerous trunk mount options, see link, including the Passage 3, # TH911XT, that you have referenced.
For the 2011 WRX it gets a little more complicated. If that vehicle has a rear spoiler, it is considered a no-fit application. The spoiler will not allow a trunk mount bike rack to be mounted safely on the vehicle. But without a spoiler you can use the same Passage 3 bike rack for it.

- I spoke with my contact at Yakima and found that the King Joe 2, # Y02619, (see photo), and the Quick Back 2 bike rack, # Y02621, are recommended for the 2009 Subaru Forester. She went on to say that the rear hatch will need to be opened to install the clips, but that once the hatch is closed there is plenty of play for the hooks to stay on the hatch lip and the rubber pad will not interfere with the installation.

- Will the Thule Raceway Platform Bike Rack # TH9003 Fit on a 2002 Subaru Forester
- I checked the Thule fit guide an they do recommend the Thule Raceway, # TH9003, for your 2002 Subaru Forester. The installation directions on the Yakima bike rack say to place the top clips in the gap at the front edge of the top of the hatch. I would check your vehicle and determine if the to
