Questions from Nissan Murano owners about this product

  • Trailer Hitch and Platform Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2009 Nissan Murano LE
  • For a trailer hitch for your 2009 Nissan Murano LE I recommend Hidden Hitch trailer hitch # 87486. This is a Class III trailer hitch with a 2 inch receiver and it is the most popular option for the Murano. I have linked a video showing installation for you. With the hitch installed you can use any of the bike racks you mentioned: The Thule Doubletrack, # TH990XT, the SportRack # SR2901, or the Pro Series Q-Slot, # PS63134. Out of these 3 bike racks the Doubletrack would be my top...

  • Hitch Mounted Platform Bike Carrier Recommendation For 2013 Nissan Murano
  • The Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier, Part # TH990XT is a good fit for your 2013 Nissan Murano. It will carry 2 bikes with almost any frame design. It has a lock system that secures the bikes to the carrier and folds down to allow access to the vehicle rear cargo area. I have attached an installation video for this carrier on a Murano you can check out. Another platform carrier I recommend is the Saris Thelma 2-Bike Rack, part # SA4229B. This carrier has large adjustable...

  • Comparing Hanging and Platform Style Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Racks for a 2013 Nissan Murano
  • First, the pros and cons of each type of rack: hanging versus platform. Pros for Hanging: Lighter weight Easier to store Easier to install/remove Less extension from back of vehicle Cons for Hanging: Not compatible with all bike styles unless using bike adapter bar Can be difficult to load multiple bikes because of spacing Have to lift bikes higher Bikes can move if no anti-sway cradles Pros for Platform: Accept many different bike styles Don't have to lift bikes as high...

  • 3 or 4 Bike Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack for a 2010 Nissan Murano
  • For 3 bike, trunk mounted racks both Thule and Yakima do not recommend using the racks on your 2010 Nissan Murano. Thule states that the carrier is not recommended because top straps should not be mounted directly to glass or plastic trim covering glass. Yakima states the same but adds if it must be done you must limit the load to only two bikes. • Will the Thule Passage Trunk Mount Bike Rack Fit on a 2011 Nissan Murano
  • Yes, the Thule Passage, # TH910XT, is recommended for use on your 2011 Nissan Murano as long as it is not a CrossCabriolet model. This is a good quality rack that will work well for you. I added a link to all of the trunk mount bike racks that will fit on the 2011 Murano. Another rack you might want to consider for ease of installation and removal is the Thule Raceway 2 Bike Carrier, # TH9001PRO, which also fits the your vehicle. You could install a hitch like Hidden Hitch part # 87486 or Curt part # 13577. Both of these will fit your vehicle well and not require any drilling. From there you could choose from a large selection of bike racks for 2 inch hitches. We have basic hanging racks like SportRack part # A30403 or tilting...

Questions from Nissan Murano owners about this product

  • Can Rear Hatch of 2007 Nissan Murano Be Opened with Trunk Mount Bike Rack in Place
  • The upper attachment hooks of the Thule Gateway will attach to the top edge of the hatch, and the bottom hooks connect at the bottom edge of the hatch. The rack would rest completely on the hatch itself. Although they state that the Gateway 2 bike rack is a fit for your Murano, Thule does NOT under any circumstances recommend opening the hatch while the rack is installed on the vehicle. The extra weight of the rack might damage the hatch or prevent the hatch from staying open and cause...

  • Will the Thule Gateway Trunk Mount Bike Rack Fit a 2007 Nissan Murano
  • Thule does list the Gateway 2, # TH9006XT as a fit for the 2007 Nissan Murano. Pictures are not available and we have not yet installed this bike rack on a Murano but Thule has determined how the bike rack would need to mount to the vehicle. You would place top clips in the gap at the front edge of the top of the hatch. The lower clips will be placed in the bottom edge of the hatch. The lower arm will set in the space between the license plate well and the upper tier of the bumper....

  • Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2007 Nissan Murano
  • Of the confirmed fits for your 2007 Nissan Murano I believe the Thule Raceway Bike Rack part # TH9001XT would be the best fit for you to carry 2 bikes. This is one of the nicest trunk mounted bike racks available because of its many features and relatively lightweight. This rack uses 4 lockable rubber coated steel cables to attach to your vehicle that will install more securely and quicker than the 6 fabric straps that other racks use that could be easily cut. This rack also has anti-sway...

Questions from Nissan Murano owners about this product

  • Will Thule T2 Bike Rack Fit a 2009 Nissan Murano LE and Which Trailer Hitch Should be Used
  • For your 2009 Nissan Murano LE I recommend 2 inch trailer hitch # 87486. With this hitch installed you can use bike racks with a 2 inch shank like the Thule T2, # TH916XTR. This rack holds the bikes at the wheels instead of at the frame so it is compatible with many bike styles. It will not work if the bikes have fenders. Softride Dura Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2009 Nissan Murano

Today on our 2009 Nissan Murano we're going to be testing fitting the Softride Dura Parallelogram. This is a tilting style 4-bike rack designed for use on both inch and a quarter and two inch hitches. Its part number is SR26247. We're going to do our test fit today in real time so you'll have a realistic idea of how long it will take you to get this installed and get your bike on the rack. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. Now come around here to the passenger side. We've got two sets of pinholes in the rack, one here and one here. I'm going to use the furthest set so we can get it as far away from our vehicle as possible.
