Questions from Nissan Murano owners about this product

  • Trailer Hitch and Platform Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2009 Nissan Murano LE
  • For a trailer hitch for your 2009 Nissan Murano LE I recommend Hidden Hitch trailer hitch # 87486. This is a Class III trailer hitch with a 2 inch receiver and it is the most popular option for the Murano. I have linked a video showing installation for you. With the hitch installed you can use any of the bike racks you mentioned: The Thule Doubletrack, # TH990XT, the SportRack # SR2901, or the Pro Series Q-Slot, # PS63134. Out of these 3 bike racks the Doubletrack would be my top...

  • Hitch Mounted Platform Bike Carrier Recommendation For 2013 Nissan Murano
  • The Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier, Part # TH990XT is a good fit for your 2013 Nissan Murano. It will carry 2 bikes with almost any frame design. It has a lock system that secures the bikes to the carrier and folds down to allow access to the vehicle rear cargo area. I have attached an installation video for this carrier on a Murano you can check out. Another platform carrier I recommend is the Saris Thelma 2-Bike Rack, part # SA4229B. This carrier has large adjustable...

Questions from Nissan Murano owners about this product

  • Will the Thule Passage Trunk Mount Bike Rack Fit on a 2011 Nissan Murano
  • Yes, the Thule Passage, # TH910XT, is recommended for use on your 2011 Nissan Murano as long as it is not a CrossCabriolet model. This is a good quality rack that will work well for you. I added a link to all of the trunk mount bike racks that will fit on the 2011 Murano. Another rack you might want to consider for ease of installation and removal is the Thule Raceway 2 Bike Carrier, # TH9001PRO, which also fits the your vehicle. • Will Thule Passage 910XT Trunk Mount Bike Rack Fit my 2009 Nissan Murano
  • Due to the shape of the rear of the Murano, there are not any trunk/hatch mounted bike racks available for that vehicle. You do have a couple of options for carrying bikes on your Murano. You could install a hitch like Hidden Hitch part # 87486 or Curt part # 13577. Both of these will fit your vehicle well and not require any drilling. From there you could choose from a large selection of bike racks for 2 inch hitches. We have basic hanging racks like SportRack part # SR2403 or tilting...

Questions from Nissan Murano owners about this product

  • Will the Thule Gateway Trunk Mount Bike Rack Fit a 2007 Nissan Murano
  • Thule does list the Gateway 2, # TH9006XT as a fit for the 2007 Nissan Murano. Pictures are not available and we have not yet installed this bike rack on a Murano but Thule has determined how the bike rack would need to mount to the vehicle. You would place top clips in the gap at the front edge of the top of the hatch. The lower clips will be placed in the bottom edge of the hatch. The lower arm will set in the space between the license plate well and the upper tier of the bumper....

  • Can Rear Hatch of 2007 Nissan Murano Be Opened with Trunk Mount Bike Rack in Place
  • The upper attachment hooks of the Thule Gateway will attach to the top edge of the hatch, and the bottom hooks connect at the bottom edge of the hatch. The rack would rest completely on the hatch itself. Although they state that the Gateway 2 bike rack is a fit for your Murano, Thule does NOT under any circumstances recommend opening the hatch while the rack is installed on the vehicle. The extra weight of the rack might damage the hatch or prevent the hatch from staying open and cause...

  • Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2007 Nissan Murano
  • Of the confirmed fits for your 2007 Nissan Murano I believe the Thule Raceway Bike Rack part # TH9001XT would be the best fit for you to carry 2 bikes. This is one of the nicest trunk mounted bike racks available because of its many features and relatively lightweight. This rack uses 4 lockable rubber coated steel cables to attach to your vehicle that will install more securely and quicker than the 6 fabric straps that other racks use that could be easily cut. This rack also has anti-sway...

Questions from Nissan Murano owners about this product

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Mounted Bike Rack for a 2013 Nissan Murano
  • Owners of the 2013 Nissan Murano most often purchase the Thule Doubletrack, # TH990XT. This is a platform style bike rack that will fit 1-1/4 inch or 2 inch trailer hitch. It holds 2 bikes using wheel cradles and hooks that hold down the centers of the bike frames. I have included a link to a video of this rack on a 2013 Murano for you. Questions from Nissan Murano owners about this product

  • Trunk Mount Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2007 Nissan Murano
  • I do have some trunk mount bike rack options for you, but according to Yakima, the KingJoe Pro racks will not fit a 2007 Nissan Murano. Instead take a look at the Thule Raceway 2, # TH9001PRO, for a 2 bike rack (the 3-bike version is not listed as a fit). The Raceway racks feature locks for the bikes and the rack. It secures to the vehicle using 4 retractable cables instead of 6 straps so it is easy to install and remove. The Raceway racks also feature padded legs to protect vehicle...

  • Availability of a Trunk Mount Bike Rack that Will Fit a 2009 Nissan Murano
  • We do have trunk mount bike rack options that will fit your 2009 Nissan Murano, including the Yakima KingJoe Pro 3 Bike Rack, Y02625. This bike rack features anti-sway cradles, to keep your bikes from moving. If you will be carrying womens, childrens, or alternative frame bicycles, you will want to use the Yakima Tube Top Bike Adapter Bar, part # Y02531. The adapter bar will allow bikes of that design to be carried level on the bike rack. I have linked an FAQ on trunk bike racks,...

  • Availability of 3-Bike Trunk Mounted Bike Rack for 2004 Nissan Murano
  • Thule tells me that several of their 2 Bike Racks like the Raceway # TH9001PRO, Archway # TH9009XT, Gateway # TH9006XT and Passage # TH910XT will all fit the 2004 Murano, but the hatch is not strong enough to accommodate 3 bikes. Yakima does not recommend using a trunk/hatch mounted bike rack on the 2003-2007 Murano. This is due to the lack of a secure place to mount the side straps. To carry three bikes, a receiver mounted bike rack is going to be your best option. I would recommend...

Thule Helium Aero Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2007 nissan murano

Today on our 2007 Nissan Murano we're going to be test fitting the Thule Helium Aero 2-bike rack for 1 1/4 and 2 inch hitches, part number TH9042. We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank into the hitch on our vehicle. This does have a self-locking hitch pin and we'll pull that out, insert that shank and that pin will go right into place. You'll then want to tighten down the anti-rattle device. Tightening this down is going to help remove any extra play in the shank of the rack, which is going to help to eliminate movement overall as you're going down the road. With that tightened down we'll get a couple of measurements. The closest part of the rack to the vehicle is going to be here at the back. That measures just 6 1/2 inches.

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2007 Nissan Murano

Today on our 2007 Nissan Murano, we are going to be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro 4 bike rack for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches part number TH934XTR. We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank into the hitch of the Murano. You want to watch for the hitch pin holes to line up. With those in line, we can take the included threaded anti rattle hitch bolt and thread that into place. Sometimes you might have to set the rack around a little bit to get it in the spot we're it doesn't line the bolt up. We'll get that hand tight and then we'll finish it off with our wrench.

Swagman Titan Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Nissan Murano

Today on our 2011 Nissan Murano, we are going to be test fitting the Swagman Titan 4 Bike Rack for 1 1/4 and 2 inch hitches, part number S63410. We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank of our rack into our hitch. Once you have the shank in, we'll go ahead and you want to line up the hitch pin holes. We'll take the included anti rattle hitch bolt and thread that into place. After getting it hand tight, you want to take your wrench and tighten it down the rest of the way. This will help take any extra play out of the shank in the rack which helps to eliminate movement of the bike going down the road overall.

Kuat NV Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Nissan Murano

Today on our 2011 Nissan Murano, we're going to be test fitting the Kuat NV 2-Bike Platform-Style Rack in black, part number N105. This also comes in grey and orange, part number N101. We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank of the rack into our hitch. You'll want to watch for the hitch pinholes to line up. With that in mind, you can take the included hitch pin lock, place it in, and then snap the lock onto the other side. Well go ahead and tighten down the anti-rattle device here at the back of the rack, which will help alleviate any movement in the shank. As you can see, we're nice and snug here. The closest part of the rack to the vehicle is going to be here at this bar, that measures about 2 and 1/2 inches from our bumper. Overall to the rear of the Murano, we've added about 14 inches, and our ground clearance comes to about 13 inches. We'll go ahead and pull the silver lever here on the side of the rack, that'll allow us to pull it away, and bring it down into the loading position.

Yakima HighLite Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2007 Nissan Murano

Today on our 2007 Nissan Murano, we are going to be test fitting the Yakima Highlight 2 Bike Rack for 1 1/4 and 2 inch hitches part number Y02438. You'll then want to line up your hitch pin holes and insert the included hitch pin. After that we'll tighten down the anti rattle device here at the base. This is going to help take any extra play out of the shank of the rack which helps to eliminate movement overall as you going down the road.

Thule Vertex Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2007 Nissan Murano

Today on our 2007 Nissan Murano, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4-Bike Rack 4-1/4" and 2" hitches part number TH9029. We'll being our test fit by inserting the shank of the rack into the hitch on our Murano. You'll want to watch for the hitch pinholes to line up. With those in line, we can take the included threaded anti-rattle hitch bolt and tread that into place. We'll get this hand tight and then we can finish it off with our wrench. Tightening this down is going to take the extra play out of the shank of the rack, which helps eliminate movement overall as you're going down the road. The closest part of the Vertex to the vehicle is going to be the top of the base here. That's going to measure about 5" to the closest part of the bumper. Overall, we've added nearly 13" to the rear of the Murano. The ground clearance is around 12-1/2". By pulling the large gray lever here on the back of the mast, we're able to tilt the Vertex away from the Murano, which is going to give us full access to our rear cargo area. This is nice for loading or unloading any items you might be taking along with you. To get it back into position, we'll pull up on the lever, push upwards on it until it snaps in to place.

Kuat Sherpa Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2007 Nissan Murano

Today on our 2007 Nissan Murano we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Sherpa 2-bike platform style rack in black and chrome, part number S103. This also available in gunmetal gray and orange, part number S101. We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank of the rack into the hitch on our vehicle. You'll then want to watch for the hitch pin holes to line up. With those in line we'll take the included hitch pin lock and slide it through. You'll then want to snap the lock on the other side and tighten down the anti-rattle device. This will take any extra play out of the shank of the rack which helps to eliminate movement overall as you're going down the road. With that tightened down we'll grab a couple of measurements.

Yakima FullTilt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Nissan Murano

Today on our 2011 Nissan Mirano, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima full tilt 4-bike rack for 1 1/4 and 2-inch hitches, part number Y02462. We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank of the rack into our hitch. It helps to guide in the anti-rattle device just so it doesn't get bound up. You also notice this has a self locking hitch pin. You want to push that in until it goes into the second hole. We can then go to the base of the rack here and tighten down the anti-rattle device.

Today on our 2011 Nissan Murano, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Hold Up 2-bike platform style rack for two inch hitches, part number Y02443. We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank of the rack into the hitch on our vehicle. You'll want to watch for the hitch pin holes to line up. Once those are in line, you can take your threaded anti-rattle hitch lock and thread that into place. On this particular vehicle, it needs to go passenger side to driver side. Excuse me, this particular rack.

Yakima HighLite Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Nissan Murano
