I had several questions answered promptly before purchased bike rack to mount on homemade adapter on my fifth wheel. I wanted to remove easily and use on hitch receiver also. The A30901 arrived within 3 days and appears to be a very sturdy and versitle unit for my use. Thanks for good service!
Today on our 2012 Ford Taurus well be test fitting the Yakima fork Lift roof mounted bike carrier, part number Y02098. To mount our carrier to the vehicle well first sit it up on top of our load bars. Well fit the clamp on the underside of the head around our crossbar and tighten it down using the T-bolt and wing nut. Then we can reinstall our hardware cover and reinstall our skewer. At the rear of the bike rack well fit the rear clamp around our bar and again use the T-bolt and wing nut to tighten it down. We also want to make sure that our wheel strap is open so that we can go ahead and load our bike.
Today, we're working with the 2012 Ford Taurus and we'll be test fitting the Rocky Mounts PitchFork Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number RKY0438. Now, our bike carrier's already assembled, so we're ready to put it up to the vehicle. We'll sit the carrier up on top of our cross bars and fit the front clamp on our front bar, we'll then use an alloy key to tighten the clamp using the two alum bolts in the head, then we can re-install our skewer on our front cover. We'll also make sure that our skewer is already open, so we're ready to load the bike. At the rear of the carrier, we'll fit the plastic clamper under rear cross bar and use the wing knot to tighten it to a rear bar, then we'll also make sure that our wheel strap is open and now, we're ready to load a bike. We'll pick up our bike, sit the rear wheel into the tray and fit the front fork down into the skewer.
Alright, today on this 2012 Ford Taurus, were going to do a test fit of the Yakima FrontLoader Bike Carrier, part number Y02103. Now, the vehicle has already been equipped with the Yakima Roof Rack System so all we got to do is go ahead and put our bicycle carrier on the roof rack. Well take a bike rack and well set it down on the front crossbar and then adjust the rear clamp for the second crossbar. Well go ahead and leave our rear clamp loosely installed and well go ahead and tighten up the clamp going towards the front first. Now, we can go ahead and move on to the rear clamp, tighten it down, and well double check to make sure the rack is sitting square with the car and thats all it takes to install the bike rack. At this point, we can go ahead and load up the bike.
