My contact at Reese advises that the bolt holes on the Titan Forged Pintle Hook Mounting Plate, part # RP45294, are intentionally over-sized for convenience but are intended for 1/2-inch hardware, not 5/8-inch. 1/2-inch grade 8 hardware is specified by the manufacturer for attaching the pintle hook and mount.

• In order to determine what size drop you need will you to measure two things, the height of the coupler on the trailer and the height of the hitch. To measure the coupler height, you will measure from the ground to the bottom edge of the coupler. Do this on level ground with the trailer level.
