Questions from Ford Explorer owners about this product

  • Is there a Folding Trailer Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier that has a Bike Mounting Adpater
  • Only the fixed Draw-Tite trailer hitch mount cargo carriers, # 6500 and # 6501, can be used with a bike adpater, # 6505. None of the folding carriers from any manufacturer we carry have an optional bike adapter that can be used. You can still put bikes on them, you would just need an alternate way to hold them up. I have included a link to some instructions and a video of the Draw-Tite carriers and bike adapter bar for you.

You might also see if there is a label on your hitch that will list the Gross Towing Weight and the Tongue Weight for your hitch. This will let you know the maximum weight that your hitch is rated for, which will help you choose what cargo carrier or trailer you should use. The towing weight and tong
