Questions from Chevrolet Cruze owners about this product

  • Will the Thule Gateway Bike Rack Fit on a 2012 Chevy Cruze and Impala
  • The Thule Gateway 2 Bike Carrier # TH9006XT that you referenced is a very versatile trunk mounted bike rack and would work on a 2012 Chevy Cruze and Impala to carry two mountain bikes. Typically, the biggest obstacle that prevents a trunk-mounted bike rack from working on a vehicle is the presence of a spoiler on the vehicle. If you avoid getting him a vehicle with a spoiler the # TH9006XT will most likely work for your application. If the bikes have alternative style frames you may...

Questions from Chevrolet Cruze owners about this product

  • Can a Regular Trailer Hitch Pin be Used with the Swagman XC Bike Rack
  • The Swagman XC # S64650 can only be used with its thread hitch bolt. The weldnut inside prevents the use of a standard hitch pin. The benefit of the thread bolt is that it poles the shank tight to the inside of the receiver to reduce movement of the rack.If you where to somehow remove the weldnut and use a regular pin then you would also lose that anti-rattle ability. To make installing and removing the bolt easier I recommend using a ratchet with the appropriate socket. For a locking...

Questions from Chevrolet Cruze owners about this product

  • Recommended Trunk-Mount Bike Carrier For 2013 Chevrolet Cruze
  • The trunk-mount bike rack I recommend for a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze is the Saris Bones 2 Bike Carrier, part # SA805BL. This carrier has adjustable arms and features a dial system that helps make sure the bike rack is secured to the vehicle. I have attached a link to a product review video for this bike rack you can check out. The bike rack you referenced in your question is also a nice bike carrier. It has deluxe pads that help protect the vehicle paint finish and features an anti-sway...

Questions from Chevrolet Cruze owners about this product

  • Will the Pro Series Q-Sot Bike Rack Fit a 2013 Chevy Cruze
  • The knob issue was a problem in the initial production run of the Q-Slot bike rack, # PS63134, that has since be resolved. Basically one of the main causes of that issues was over-tightening the knobs. They do not have to be cranked down until they can't move. They just have to be snug. The bike rack is compatible with a Class I trailer hitch. The hitches on the 2013 Cruze are not recessed too far under the vehicle and the rack will clear the rear bumper. The rack measures 7-1/2 inches...

What our customers are saying:

I received the receiver hitch for my car and bike rack fast and everything works great. The hitch was a little difficult to install, but worth it. I look forward to taking my bike with me now and its much easier using the receiver rack than putting the bike in the trunk.

Thule Vertex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 Chevrolet Cruze

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Vertex, a tilting 4-bike rack for 1 1/4 and 2-inch hitches, part number TH9029. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it with a wrench. We can then secure it with the provided clip. With our rack secure, we'll have about 8 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about 4 inches away and overall we've added about 11 3/4 of an inch to the length of our Cruze. As you can see we have access to the trunk with our mast in the upright position, however pulling the gray lever at the base will allow us to tilt the rack away from our vehicle, giving us extra room. With our mast back in its upright position, we'll pull the gray lever at the top of the mast.

We have about nine inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of our Cruze, is about 1-1/4 inches away, and we've added about 12 inches to the overall length of our Chevy.

In this position you'll have about eight and a half inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about ten inches away. Overall we've added about 29 inches in length to the Cruze. Pulling the two outside pins on the rear of the rack will allow us to tilt our wheel cradles down into the platform position. We'll secure these in this position by reinserting our pins. Pulling the center pin on the back of the bike rack allows us to tilt down our center mast. We'll reinsert the pin to secure it in this downward position, then we can pull the larger black pin at the base of the rack, allowing us to tilt it up into it's stored position.
