Our measured drop actually comes out to 11-1/2 inches.Now, well take the ball mount and flip it over and check it in a rise position. It gives us a measurement about 14-1/2 inches. A couple other things to know that this ball mount is designed for 600 pounds tongue weight and 6,000 pounds gross towing weight.

Now, the ball mount is in a drop position so well go ahead and get a measurement where the ball bolts on to the top.Here, the measurement is going to be 7.5 inches. That can be extremely little for a lot of trailers. Go ahead and check it now in the rise position.
Today on our 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500, we'll be test fitting the Curt Tri-Ball Mount, part number C45001. The tri-ball mount has a 1-7/8-inch, 2-inch and 2-5/16 chrome balls mounted on a hollow enclosed shank which is black powder coated. It will fit 2-inch by 2-inch trailer hitches and the towing capacity depends on the weight capacity of the ball. The 1-7/8-inch ball has a 5000-pound towing capacity. The 2-inch ball has a 7500 towing capacity and the 2-5/16-inch ball has a 10,000-pound towing capacity. Now, both the 1-7/8-inch and 2-inch balls measure 8-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole.
