2007 Nissan Xterra Roof Cargo Carrier Questions

• Updates on the Yakima SkyBox 18 Roof Mount Cargo Box
  
• The Yakima SkyBox, # Y07181, has been updated, though I do not know if it was because of the issue you have described. Yakima has updated the latching mechanism from the old ball catch to super secure hook and post. They also made the front and rear drive bars move independently. They changed the lid supports in February 2010. And upgraded to a Zinc die cast handle in October 2010. We carry the most current version of the box. I have incldued a link to the installation details for you.

• According to the Yakima Fitguide, if you have factory crossbars on your 2007 Nissan Xterra you will be able to mount the Yakima RocketBox Pro 14 Black Cargo Box 14 Cubic Feet, part # Y07192, on your vehicle. I checked the Thule fitguides and they only recommended you install cargo bags onto the factory crossbars of your Xterra You should also note that your factory crossbars have a 150 lb weight limit, and as long as you are under that limit you should be fine.
