With this long and lean Yakima SkyBox 11 Cargo box, you can protect your skis and snowboards from the elements without taking taking up all the room on your crossbars.

Today we are going to take a look at the Yakima RocketBox 16 with hand knob mounts part number Y07148. The RocketBox features slick, aerodynamic styling that cuts down on wind noise and helps to keep the drag down. The roof boxes are a great way to add extra storage space to your vehicle and are perfect for soft luggage like duffel bags. The RocketBox ships completely assembled ready for quick installation. The RocketBox opens from the passenger side and it features the Yakima SKS locking system. The SKS locks are interchangeable so that you can match all of your locks on all of your Yakima accessories. The lock on the RocketBox also prevents the key from being removed unless the box is locked properly. This is to help ensure that you do not accidentally lock the keys inside the box. 00:49
The hinges on the RocketBox are spring assisted to help make the lid easier to open. Inside you will see the knobs for adjusting the clamps underneath. The red knob opens and closes the clamp. The smaller black knob is what loosens the clamp assembly and lets it slide along the track to accommodate for different crossbar spreads. Now we are going to need to mount it on top of the vehicle. The RocketBox 16 requires the crossbar spread between 30 and 36 inches. We have our crossbars set up 33 inches from the center of the crossbar to the center of the rear. Next we will open the box and adjust the clamps to make sure they are seated on the crossbars and tighten them down. Repeat the same process and tighten the rest of the clamps. Once the clamps are slid into position and tightened down you are ready to start loading the box. There you have it the Yakima RocketBox 16 cargo box part number Y07148.
