This multisport cargo basket fits on the roof-rack crossbars of large vehicles, allowing you to carry big loads and mount Yakima accessories. The basket front and rear crossbars serve as mounting points for Yakima bike and boat carriers. The basket accepts any Yakima mount accessory that works with a crossbar spread of 41".
A moveable load bar mounts on the side rails of the cargo basket and repositions to serve as a mounting point for shorter roof rack accessories.
Additional accessories - including Hi-Lift Jack Brackets, Spare Tire Carrier, Light Bracket and Axe/Shovel Brackets - attach directly to the side bars of the cargo basket.

Today we are going to show you the Yakima MegaWarrior roof basket, part number Y07080. The Yakima MegaWarrior is an extra large size roof basket, perfect for use on top of SUVs or trucks. The basket includes an optional cross bar that will allow you to use roof rack mounted accessories, like ski racks or bike racks, on top of the basket. You can remove the cross bar and have full access to the basket for hauling anything that you do not want to put inside your vehicle. The basket is made of galvanized steel that has been powder coated for protection against weather. You also have the option of using the Yakima same key system on the locking brackets to provide a way to lock the basket to the roof rack of your vehicle. The basket itself weighs 35 pounds and can hold up to 130 pounds of cargo. But, make sure that you do not exceed the capacity of the roof rack. Yakima includes a fairing for the front of the basket to guide air up and over the basket to reduce wind noise. The MegaWarrior is also covered by a lifetime warranty. 0:58
We are going to go ahead and install it on the vehicle and show you how it works. The mounting brackets are easy to assemble and provide plenty of adjustment to accommodate a wide variety of cross bar styles. On the front of the basket is the fairing. When you are going down the highway, the air will hitch the fairing and go up and over the basket so that there is no air turbulence and wind noise generated behind the basket. The included, optional cross bar attaches to the side rails of the basket with this slip over clip. And the allen bolt is fed through the top, through the bar and threads to a nut inside the bottom of the clamp. With the cross bar installed, you can mount accessories like bike racks or ski racks that will utilize the optional load bar, as well as one of the rear bars on the basket. Once you have the cargo basket loaded, make sure you use a good set of tie-downs. Today we are going to be using the MegaWarrior stretch net, part number Y07081. And with our gear secured to the roof basket we are ready to hit the road. And there you have it for the Yakima MegaWarrior, part number Y07080.

- I spoke with my contact at Yakima. He stated the Yakima MegaWarrior Extra Large Roof Rack Cargo Basket, # Y07080, will fit the factory cross bars that run side to side on your 2006 Land Rover Range Rover Sport HSE.
Any cargo basket will require cross bars to install it on the roof. If you do not have factory cross bars, you can use Thule Ride-On Adapter, # TH532, on aftermarket bars and then mount the basket to it. As long as your cross bars are 4 inches or less wide, the adapter will fit.
