Today we'll be reviewing the Yakima Stand-Up Paddleboard Nose and Tail Anchor Strap, part number y04060. This anchor strap allows you to anchor the front and rear of either your stand-up paddleboard or surfboard to the roof of your vehicle. This kit includes a strap that will go around the board and which you'll then put the tail and nose into these red loops at the end of the strap as well as a cam buckle at each end of the strap which will allow us to thread in the nose and tail anchor straps to the board, which are right here. These anchor straps will anchor the nose and tail of the board using these included S-hooks. Now that we've gone over the components of this kit we're ready to begin our installation. We'll first show you how to put the first strap onto the board and then we'll load the board onto the vehicle. We'll now start here and bring this red loop around the tail of the board.
We'll then move up to the nose of the board where we'll bring the second red loop around. Now with both red loops into position we'll first tighten down the red loops. Secondly we'll tighten the black strap connecting the two red loops. Now with our straps secured to the board we'll bring the padded cam buckles around the underside of the board. We're now ready to place it onto our vehicle. Now with board loaded up onto our crossbars we're ready to install the anchor straps which will anchor down the front and rear of our board.
With the padded cam buckles on the downward side of the board we'll thread in the strap without the clear rubber protector through the end of the cam buckle and pull the strap through. We'll now take our S-hook and insert the skinny end of the S-hook into the loop at the end of the strap with the clear rubber protector at the end. We'll then find the steel anchor point on the underside of our vehicle to hook the S-hook to. We'll then pull the strap to tighten it down. Now you want to tighten it down loosely so that way the board can ride level on the vehicle. We'll now move to the front of the vehicle where we'll repeat the same process as we did at the rear. Once the front strap has been tightened down loosely we can then tighten them down securely the board to the vehicle.
Now before tightening down the anchor straps at the front and rear of the board the manufacturer states that you must secure your board to the roof rack crossbars of your vehicle first before tightening down these straps. We'll be using the Yakima Rip Cord, part number y04048 to secure the board to the vehicle's crossbars. We can finally tighten down the anchor straps at the front and rear of the vehicle. After securing our excess slack we'll head on down the road so you can see how it looks. That completes today's review of the Yakima S.U.P Brah Nose and Tail Anchor Strap, part number y04060. .
