- I checked with Yakima and found some installation notes for the Yakima KingJoe 3 Rack # Y02620 on a 1996 Subaru Legacy.
It looks like you will need to place the upper strap hooks at the top edge of hatch lid. The outer/lower support frame rests on the upper portion of the license plate. Place the lower strap hooks at the bottom edge of the hatch lid. Take the side strap hooks to top side edge of hatch.
