Specs:
Spare your back and spoil your bike with this ultimate combination of convenience and functionality - the Yakima HighLite. This premium, hitch-mounted two-bike carrier is constructed from aluminum, so it's easy to maneuver, tote and store.
The HighLite is designed to coddle your bikes with anti-sway cradles that provide excellent stability during transport. The cradles prevent bike-to-bike contact, and they slide along the carrier arms to create ideal distances between your bikes. Integrated rubber straps hold your bikes firmly in place on the cradles.
For added security, the carrier includes a built-in cable lock with an included Same Key System (SKS) lock core. SKS cores can be changed out so that all your Yakima locks are keyed alike.

For convenience, the HighLite arms - operated by a large button on the head of the mast - fold down when not in use.
The carrier mast tilts forward with the simple pull of a spring-loaded pin, allowing easy rear-of-vehicle access. This saves you the trouble of having to remove the rack completely to reach or load cargo.
HighLite is guaranteed to remain snug in your hitch with an easily accessible anti-rattle knob mounted on the front of the mast. Simply turn the knob to eliminate play inside the hitch - no tools required. The knob includes an SKS core to lock your bike carrier to the hitch.

The HighLite includes an integrated bottle opener at the end of each arm.

Today we are going to take a look at the Yakima Highlite Aluminum 3 bike carrier for 1-1/4 inch and 2 inch trailer hitches. Part number Y02439. The Yakima Highlite is built primary of aluminum, which means it will be very strong while being very light. The Highlite uses anti-sway cradles to keep the bikes from swinging back and forth or hitting each other or the vehicle. :22
The Yakima includes two nylon straps. A long strap which is used to secure the bike frames to the mast, and a short strap to secure the wheel to the bike frame to keep the handlebars from turning. On the shank of the carrier is a threaded, anti-wobble device that help snug up the carrier inside the hitch and keep it from wiggling. There are two Yakima SKS lock cores included on this carrier. One for the tightening knob at the bottom to help lock and secure the carrier into the hitch. The other is in the included cable lock that is built into the carrier that will secure your bikes to the rack. :57
The Highlite Aluminum series bike racks are designed to fit both 2 inch trailer hitches and 1-1/4 inch, class 2 trailer hitches. All we have to do is remove the adapter sleeve. To do this, take the included allen key, and remove the allen bolt. The Highlite Aluminum series is covered by a lifetime warranty. The Yakima Highlite series folds in two places. On top is a trigger latch that allows us to fold our arms down. So when we are not using the bike rack, we can have some extra clearance behind us. The Highlite also folds down by pulling the pin up, and the upright will down, out of the way. This way you can access your truck or rear access hatch. Down at the bottom is our hand knob for tightening our rock steady feature inside the receiver hitch. By loosing the knob, we undo the tension inside the receiver hitch which allows us to remove the bike rack. When we tighten the knob, it pulls the device tight inside the hitch and takes out all the wiggle. When in the locked position, the knob will free spin, and not allow us to undo the tension and remove the rack. We have to unlock the knob first so we can operate our tensional device. 2:13.
Also included with the Highlite is its own hitch pin. It is tethered to the rack with the steel lanyard. On the end of the pin is a ball detent that will snap into place inside our shank, securing the pin. The rock steady tightening device inside the hitch does most of the securing. The pin is there as a fail safe to make sure that it does not come completely out. Now we will load a bike, and show you how it is done. Make sure to load the heavier bikes closer to the vehicle, so they have more support. Well lock our anti-sway cradle over the bar and begin securing the crossbar on the top portions of the cradles. We will wrap the access and tie it off. Next we will install a second bike. Then we will take our extra long strap and feed it through our bike frames as well as the upright mast of the bike rack. Built into the upright mast, is the locking steel cable that will feed over our bike frames and onto the lock post up front. 3:28
Now the bikes are safe and secure on our rack, and the rack is locked to our vehicle. Now that we are loaded up, we will head out for a road test and see how stable the rack is for our bikes. There you have it for the Yakima Highlite Aluminum 3-bike in silver, part number Y02439. The silver is also available it a 2-bike version, part number Y02438. The other color the Highlite series is available in is white, in both a 3-bike and 2-bike option. Those are part numbers Y02436 and Y02437.

Should have Velcro straps for bike wheel stabilization instead of the straps that were provided, other than that I think this is the best on the market.51017

Exceptional bike rack. Very little assembly required. Light weight and easy to secure in a hitch. You don't feel like its a chore to take this rack on/off you vehicle. Great that the rack locks to the hitch as well as providing a way to lock your bikes to the rack. Bikes are secure even over bumpy terrain. E-trailer video for this product is dead on and their service is second to none!32109
