This is one stickup that won't end with someone taking all your money. The Yakima StickUp is an affordable, wheel mount bike rack that fits more styles than any frame mount - from monster mountain bikes to kids' bikes with tassels on the handlebars.

The tray-style mount promotes easy, hands-free loading of any bike in under 10 seconds, and the bikes are secured to the frame by a centrally located ratcheting arm and best-in-class wheel straps. Simply place the bikes in the cradles, then push down the ratcheting hooks to secure your front tire. The hooks operate with a simple push-button release for easy adjustment and the double bars allow the rack to carry two bikes of the same size - or different sizes.

The wheel trays slide along the bike rack bars to accommodate different bike lengths. Ratcheting straps secure your rear bike tires to the trays. The adjustable tire trays and ratcheting arms limit frame contact when bikes are mounted.

The versatility of StickUp extends beyond what it can hold to where it can go. The carrier mounts in both 2" and 1-1/4" hitches right out of the box. A steel sleeve slides over the hitch tongue to convert the rack from a 1-1/4" to 2" product. Works with Class II hitches only.

The convenient design of the StickUp allows user to fold the upright arm to the side with a simple pull of a spring-loaded pin. The same pin-release mechanism is used at the base of the rack to fold the platform flat against the rear of the vehicle when the bikes on the trail.

The StickUp is secured to the vehicle with a heavy-duty (RocSteady) hitch tongue, providing superior stability for transportation. The hitch tongue reduces movement in the hitch and prevents rattling.

The tray comes complete with a handy, built-in bottle opener mounted at the end of the rack.
The hitch tongue comes with a standard hitch bolt and clip for attaching the carrier to the hitch. StickUp is backed by a lifetime warranty.

All right, today we are going to show you part number Y02420 from Yakima. This is their StickUp Bicycle Carrier. This is a bicycle carrier that is a wheel-mount design that carries up to two bikes. Some quick points about this bicycle rack are that the rear wheel wells themselves are adjustable on the rear wheel. It also has a one single arm that will actually hold both bikes. The handles that lock themselves are independent of each other. And also the whole bicycle rack tilts up out of the way when you are not using it. And of course it does fit 1-1/4 and 2-inch receivers. Right now, this is set up for a 2-inch receiver hitch. To convert it down to a 1-1/4 inch, all we have to do is take off this bolt right here. It is an Allen key bolt, and the bicycle rack does come with the tools to take it apart with an Allen key wrench. One bolt and it is ready for use in a Class II receiver hitch. And in this instance, we are actually going to use it on a Class III receiver so we will go ahead and reinstall the bushing.
All right, we will install this on a typical 2-inch receiver, and we are going to install this while the bicycle rack is in the tilted-up and stored position - which is a good idea to have it that way because it is easier to install on your hitch. Once you have your bicycle rack installed, go ahead and install the anti-rattle bolt that comes with the bicycle rack. Just thread it in as far as you can and then just take a wrench and go ahead and thread it through the rest of the way. This is a wrench that is provided with the kit to help tighten it down, but you can also use a 3/4-inch socket and ratchet, too, to make things a little bit faster. All right, once you have the anti-rattle bolt tightened down, it is a good idea to go ahead and install the safety pin behind it. We have the bicycle rack tilted up in the upright position. Let us go ahead and lower it and get it ready to load up the bikes.
It is very easy to do. All we have got to do is pull up on this red knob right here and just pull back on the bicycle rack. It automatically locks back in position, and we are ready to install some bikes. Next we will talk about the cradles. The rear cradle, as shown here, is adjustable up and down on the bicycle rack itself. There is a knob right here on the end you just loosen it and you can slide it back and forth as needed to accommodate the length of your bike. When you have found that, then you can just tighten it up with the same knob, and it is good to go. And your bike will fit inside this rear well the rear wheel will fit in here and the strap will go over the rim itself and tightens down just like so. Next, we will show you the front wheel mount, which is pretty nice. What is kind of neat about this wheel mount that not other bicycle racks have this feature is that when you put your bike in here, the wheel actually sits inside here, of course, but actually it helps hold the bike up while you install the clamps that hold everything down, which we will show you next.
All right, this is the assembly that clamps down the bike. Pull on that knob, put them in their upright position, and it is held in place just like that. And again, what is nice with the front wheel mount is the bike is held in position while you work with this, so you do not have to worry about doing two things at the same time. And these are the clamps here. When you get them over the bike you simply push them down on the bike until they are secure. The first thing you need to do to load a bike is go ahead and raise the mast. Pull this pin out and raise it up into position. You may have to undo the clamp to get it out of the way. All right, when the pin locks back into place, then you can go ahead and load up your bike. All right, take your bike and put it in the wheel wells. Go ahead and push the clamp down onto it until it is secure, and then tie down your back wheel. There you have it within seconds, your bike is loaded and ready to go down the road. And last but not least, but one of the best features about this bicycle rack is the built-in bottle opener on the very end, right here. This covers our review of Y02420 from Yakima, the StickUp Bicycle Rack.

This bike rack works great with my 2010 Rav4. We took the tire cover off to give us a couple more inches clearance which was perfect. We use this rack to carry 2 mens bicycles and they secure nicely on the rack. It is very easy to place the rack on the hitch and as easy to secure the bikes on the rack. This was a great choice for us and we highly recommend this product. Thank you etrailer for your assistance with this purchase. 11427

The Yakima StickUp carrier is sturdy, well designed and easy to use. It easily adjusts to a wide variety of bicycles due to the dual center tube height adjustment.. The large separation between bikes should prevent any contact between them. Loading bicycles is extremely quick and easy.8580

Overall Purchase experience review Having 2 different style bikes, this carrier will allow me to take both bikes on some of my extended trips where I want the capabilities of each bike for particular rides or when a group of us want to take a ride by pre-staging vehicles at the end point rather than having to return to the starting point and need the ability to carry multiple bikes. Also in the past, I have strapped the bike(s) in the bed of my pickup, which can be time consuming and takes up a lot of space when I am loading up with other gear so this will free up that space yet provides a means of quickly loading the bikes. I also like the fold and stow feature when the rack is not in use but I don't want to remove it from the vehicle. A possible improvement could be placing reflective tape along the outer support rail or even incorporating a brake/tail light on the end post above the bottle opener.4415

Product is well built. The general design seems to be sound; however, it does not work with a woman's bike without an adapter. The only other issue is cosmetic and that is that the unit does not sit level either in the loaded position (right side sags) or in the folded positon (vertical strut leans to the right). Tried to adjust this with spacer washers with no luck. Bikes seem secure, and a 29er does fit, although the rear tire cups do not have the right curve to truly fit the larger tire. 30209
