Today on this 2009 Ford Flex, we are going to do a test fit of the Yakima Roof System. We are going to be using the Yakima Q Towers, part number Y00124, and we are going to be using the cross bars part number Y00409, and the Yakima Q clips and pads, part number Q131. Okay with our bars setup already, I am going to go ahead and open the front doors so that we can go ahead and install the front bar. When we sit the bar onto the vehicle, were going to set it so that it will be 20 inches from the front edge of the windshield. Measuring from the front edge where the sheet metal and windshield meet for the front of my Q tower, I want it to be 20 inches. Once I got my bar positioned on the vehicle, I am going to go ahead and check to make sure Im even side to side.
Now I can go ahead and lock down my Q towers and clips to the vehicle. With our front bar setup, were ready to install the rear bar. To do this we will open both rear doors. Now when setting up our rear load bar on the vehicle, we want to be 36 inches from the center of the front bar. So give yourself an idea before you set it on the vehicle where we need to be.
And there you have it for our Yakima Roof System on a 2009 Ford Flex with a naked roof.

Nice strong bars. These bars are great and worth the price. I put them on my 2004 Tahoe and they look good. Very easy to install. I would recommend to anyone looking for heavy duty crossbars. 27615

Roof rack kit worked perfectly. I tried to find out what kit I needed from the Yakima website but their fit my car function would not load. I was relieved to see that etrailer had their own kit to fit my car. I didn't have to worry that I ordered incompatible parts. Installation took less than an hour and the rack works great.27285

Clear concise instructions, easy to follow. Installed onto my 2004 Honda Pilot. No hiccups; the hardest part was reading my old tape measure in order to get things fasten down symmetrically. I highly recommend this product. Thank you Yakima and thank you etrailer. 19994
