Video Transcript for Yakima Q Tower Roof Rack Stretch Kit Installation - 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Today on this 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse were going to be testing a Yakima Roof Rack System with the Q Stretch Kit. The Q Stretch Kit is going to allow us an additional 4 of crossbar spread when compared to the roof rack kit alone. We already have our cross bar assemblies put together, and now we are ready to mount them on the vehicle. The first thing we need to do is open the doors on both sides of the vehicle. Well set our front crossbar assembly up on our roof; we need to measure 4 back from the edge of the windshield weather strip to the leading edge of the Q Tower. We can adjust the thumb screws for proper tension.

We want there to be firm resistance, but we dont want to half to force down the door. Now we are ready to position our rear crossbar. We will need to measure 24 from the center of the front bar to the center of the rear bar to get it in place. Now we can attach the new covers that came with the Stretch Kit. Now we are ready to fit our stretch bars into our Q towers.

Then we will take our stretch kit anchor point, and slide it as far back as possible. We will repeat the same procedure for the other stretch bar on the drivers side. Now we can install our clip assemblies and the new stretch bar anchor points. We want to make sure that they tension is even on both sides, and then we can lock our clips down. With our stretch kit clamps locked down our roof rack is installed and ready to go.
