Today on this 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid we are going to install part number V82211 from Valley. First off we will show you were the attachment points are going to be. These three holes will be used, and this is on the drivers side frame rail. It is going to be identical on the passenger side frame rail, except the exhaust will be hanging down below, but it should not pose a problem, we should not have to deal with that at all. :25
To begin our install the first thing we are going to need to do is fish wire our hardware into the frame. What we are going to do is run our fish wire from one of the holes, out the end of the frame here. At this point we will go ahead and attach our hardware and pull it back through. Put it in the hole, pull it out the other side, the leader is kind of short here, so make sure you do not pull it all the way through the other side. First we will put our plate onto the leader and push it into the frame. Then we will take our bolt and thread it onto our leader and take the whole assembly and pull it back through. We will do the same steps for these two holes here. 1:00
At this point we can go ahead and install the hitch. What we are going to do is rest the passengers side half onto the exhaust, and we will go back over to the drivers side and get the bolts started there. We have our hitch in position now, we can put the rest of the hardware into place. The flat washer, lock washer, and nut. Once you have all the bolts in place and the hitch installed loosely, move the hitch to the center of the bumper. Now we can snug everything down to hand tight. Looking at the exhaust side we can see how the hitch goes around the exhaust which is not a big deal, however you will see that the bolt right here is right above the exhaust, there is no straight shot access to it to tighten it down. In this case we are going to lower the exhaust to get enough room to tighten down that one bolt. 2:53
We will put some lubricant on the hanger. We are going to remove the hanger in the front and the hanger in the back. Then we will torque the bolts down as specified in the instructions. Once we have our bolts torqued down all we have to do is reinstall our exhaust and that will finish our install. 2:32
From the center of the pin hole to the edge of the bumper is about 1 inch. The top of the receiver tube down to the ground on this particular vehicle is 15 inches. And there yo have it for part number V82211 from Valley.

Great hitch. Very easy to install. Instructions mentioned enlarging a hole on one side of the frame was necessary however on my 2006 Hybrid this was not required which was a huge plus for me!.27731

This was so easy.....I ordered everything before I purchased....I would recommend looking around under your car first....after I revived the product I found that my car had been wrecked in the back and the access holes to get bolts in had been sealed up....I was lucky enough to be able to cut small holes with a dremel tool...I could have also used a circular saw.....or a torch if that didn't work. Shipping was fast......the product was awesome...watch the video provided online if they have one for a vehicle like yours.24993

Very few times do thing work/assemble as advertised. This hitch fit exactly as it was supposed to. The directions are very easy to understand. And while it would be a little easier with two people and a vehicle lift, it only took me 30 minutes by myself laying on the ground under the vehicle. I will post another review when I do the wiring.18088

EASY install. I was able to install it in about an hour by myself. I choose the Vally V82211 because of the no drilling installation. The Vally V82211arrived the same week that I ordered it, no issues. Once I opened the box, I did notice the Vally V82211 had some pretty deep scratches in it. However, I decided to go ahead and keep the unit as most scratches were out of sight. I little touch up paint should prevent rusting. No doubt, I would recommend the Vally V82211 for the Escape.8439

Absolutely Fantastic! I was looking to have a company do the work for me. For those of you who are in the same spot, my mom could have installed this. Make sure you have drilling tools if you are going to install one yourseel. I just installed a Valley trailer hitch and it would have been much more difficult, had I not found an installation video for the yr, make & model of my vehicle. However, it looks great but I have been able to test my install yet. The wiring harness was easy to do since my vehicle came with wiring behind the driver's side bumper.1980

Super Easy Install I wouldn't call myself particularly mechanically inclined, but this was a really easy install. I have a 2008 escape and I didn't have to drill at all (both frame rails are open at the end on my non-hybrid V6). No need to remove the spare tire or losen the muffler during install. If you're wondering if you can do this yourself the answer is yes.1474

Fit perfect and looks good. The hitch fit perfect, took me about 45 minutes to install, the worst part was just threading the bolts thru the frame, no drilling of access holes were required on my 08 Escape. After the bolts were in I held it in place while my daughter threaded the nuts on, two people to install the hitch made it much easier. I also like the looks of it.1306

Nice fit! Admittedly, this installation would be easier with two people. The video on etrailer.com explains the only major problem with the installation--securing the bolt to the frame above the muffler. I don't agree it's as easy to take the muffler off the hanger as they showed in the video (our car has only 5K miles on it) but it did finally move. It is a neat, clean installation, and my wife is thrilled with the looks (after all, it is her SUV--and if she's not happy, I'm not happy).770
