- GM and Dodge 7-Way Blade Plugs Not Wired The Same
- In my experience most factory 7-Way connectors are wired the same. You may have a aftermarket 7-Way connector installed on one of the two vehicles that has been wired differently or you may have a factory 7-Way that has been rewired to match a trailer that has a different wiring configuration.
I would use a circuit tester, item # 3808 if needed, to check the connectors inside both trucks 7-Way. I would then make a diagram of each vehicles connections and check the wiring with the standard 7-W

- 7-Way Trailer Connector for 2003 Ford F-250 Super Duty

- How Long is the OEM Style 7-Way and 4-Way Trailer Connectors for Ford and GM Trucks, # V30607
- I went out to the warehouse and measured one and, at most, the OEM Style 7-Way and 4-Way Trailer Connectors for Ford and GM Trucks, # V30607, is 16 inches long. That is if it is stretched to the limit and it is perfectly straight. Otherwise, if not stretched to its limit, it is more like 12 inches long.

- Is a Special Tool Required to Un-clip a Factory 7-Way Connector from the Vehicle Wiring
- There is not special tool required, but these connectors can be stubborn, especially with years of road grime built up. You may be able to make things easier on yourself by removing the receptacle from the rear bumper and giving yourself some slack. You may need to use a screw-driver to pry the locking tab up far enough to get the connector to release, be careful not to break the tab. If you do break the tab, you can wrap the connection in electrical tape to hold, but it will be more difficult t

- Which Trailer Connector is Needed for 2009 Chevy Traverse
- The trailer connector you need will depend on the type of trailer you are planning on towing. If you are going to tow a smaller utility or flat bed trailer that does not have electric brakes or on board accessories that would require power like a winch or interior lighting, then a 4 pole connector should be just fine for you.
To provide a 4 pole connector on your Traverse, you would want to use part # 118450. This wiring harness plugs into the existing wiring connections located behind the t

- If the problem is on the trailer side, you may need to check under the hood to determine if there is a fuse or relay missing or not working. You can use the vehicle owners manual to find the towing related fuses and relays.
The load from the trailer may be sufficient enough power draw to shut down the tow package wiring on the truck if those fuses/relays are not in place.
You can also check to make sure that the trailer tail lights are properly grounded to a clean and corrosion free bare m

- Parts Needed to Install an Electric Trailer Brake Controller on a 2009 Chevy Traverse
- The 7-Way RV style trailer connector is more common than a 6-Way. The 6-Way will not have a reverse light/accessory circuit pin. They both will have stop, tail, turn, 12 volt, brakes, and ground circuits. I recommend a 7-Way since it is the more common connector. But if the trailer has a 6-Way connector, then it would be better to go with a 6-Way on the vehicle as well.
In order to install a brake controller on your 2009 Chevy Traverse, there are a few parts you will need. If the vehicle alre

- Installation of a 7-Way Connector On a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado With 7 Bare Wires and No Plug
- To get a 7-Way connector at the rear of your 2010 Chevrolet Silverado I would use a circuit tester like the Quickee Tester, part # 3808, and test the 7 bare wires for function. Then, use the Pollak 4 Foot Pigtail Wiring Harness, part # PK11998, to connect to the 7 bare wires by function using the included butt connectors. I would not connect them by colors because the colors will not always match the same function.
After the wiring harness is attached correctly to your functioning bare wires
