Want to improve the look - and security - of your truck bed? Have a few minutes to spare? That is all it takes to install a TruXedo Lo Pro QT tonneau cover.
A spring-loaded header guide snaps easily into place at the front of the truck bed to secure the cover assembly, reducing installation time when compared with the bolt-on headers of other tonneau covers.
The rails of the Lo Pro QT install in about 20 minutes with TruXedo's quick-attach clamps. These clamps install with just a socket and a ratchet. The clamps mount three to a side, holding the angled side rails in place along the inside of your truck-bed rails. This allows you to install the tonneau while leaving your stake pockets free for ladder racks and permitting the use of other truck-bed accessories such as bed rails, bed liners and rail caps. All components of the cover come pre-assembled and ready to install - no drilling required.
The cover mounts on the angled rails with 1-1/2" wide Velcro strips for a superior hold - no snaps or adhesives that can fail. The Velcro moves back and forth - or floats - on the rails, preventing normal wear and tear.
The "floating hook" Velcro technology works in tandem with a spring-loaded, automatic tension control to continually adjust and keep the fabric tight, even when the cover is closed. No more constant adjustments with a knob.

Today on this 2001 Ford F-150 super crew, we are going to install part number TX590601 from TruXedo. This is their QT tonneau cover. The first thing we want to do is go ahead and lay out our parts and we are going to work with our side rails first. If you notice, on the rails here they have these slots right here and the edges are kind of sharp. So, the kit comes with these simple little covers that you just snap over the edges. Then go ahead and go on to the rest of the slots and cover those up. We can go ahead and start installing the first rail. 032
We are going to start off on the passenger side. And you can see right here, there is a catch that goes towards the back of the vehicle. And on the other side, there is an adjustment bolt and that tells you that goes to the front. We are going to hold it up against the edge of the bed rail itself and we are just going to temporarily clamp it in place. And on the front, you want to position the rail where it is about 1/8 of an inch above the cap. Now, if you do not have a good way to clamp it in position, you are just going to have to use the clamps that come with the kit. Now you will notice that the clamp is offset because the rail is going to sit higher in this part here. So the rail is going to sit higher but this part actually bottom outs on the inside edge of the rail. You can still adjust it with these slots right here. Get the rail where you want it and push out the back side as far as you can go and then tighten it down. Our next clamp is going to go on the other side of the pocket right here. And it is going to be like that on all four corners since there is nothing really to clamp to in the middle of the bed. When you tighten this down, you want the rail to sit level. If it is up or down a little bit, then you may have to readjust the clamp. Alright, now we are going towards the back of the rail, towards the tailgate. And let us repeat the same process. Now let us go ahead and repeat the same process back over on the driver side. 1:50
Alright, now we will go ahead and start working on the tonneau cover itself. This is the latch right here and right now it is open so we can install it. When we have it installed, we will push this latch shut. It locks into place and it cannot come back because there is a catch right here. And to open it up, just push it down and pull it back. So we will just go ahead and flip it over. Take one end and fit it in and then check on the other side. And then we will just take our latch and lock it in. Alright, let us go ahead and unroll it. Make sure these cross bars fit in the slot as well. Make sure this part will catch right here. Do it on both sides and then just push down on it. And then take it and pull it out. Make sure the Velcro attaches. And when you want to unlatch it, pull this lever right here and just roll it back up. And we need to use the truck bed itself. These straps will wrap around and they will hook into this loop right here. And with that that will finish it for part number TX590601 from TruXedo.
