The lights are very bright and visible and I am happy with the product as a whole. The directions are absolutely worthless. If you have installed trailer lights before you will have no problems, if you haven't and are not "handy" with this sort of thing, you will struggle. I opted not to use a majority of the electrical connectors provided as i don't feel they are suitable for use on electrical systems that will be subjected to the elements. All in all I am happy with the kit, the true test will be the durability of the lights and I am hopeful they will be the last set I put on my trailer.12097

The rear LED lights are well made, and installed without a problem. The amber side marker lights use a round pin style plug for the positive lead, while the negative lead is part of the frame, which is also supposed to be the trailer negative or ground. The positive pin lacks a mechanical lock, which could be just a raised collar to hold it in place. I had to use cable ties to make sure the pin would not pull out during travel. I have used several other brands of LED trailer lights to be very siappointed when they failed some times within only a few months of use. I am hopeful that these lights will last, and the company will honor their warranty if their is a problem.8735

Good lights, bad directions The directions come from a previous model and do not match the enclosed parts. I mostly used my own connectors and heat shrink tubing because the provided connectors seemed to be random in number and poorly chosen. The lights themselves are of good quality.2996

Arrived with cracks around the assembly screws; it looks like the screws were over-tightened at the factory. I had to move my trailer this weekend so return was not an option. These were a replacement for lights on my Starcraft camper. Installation instructions applied to 4-wire hookups, so it took a little figuring to get the wires right on my 7-wire rig; not a real problem. If your trailer already has clearance lights (small red lights on the side), as mine does, you do NOT need the product for trailers over 80 inches wide. Other than the cracks, a good set of lights. 11914

The Optronics Trailer Light Kit, # TLL36RK, does not come with a 5 pole plug. If you want to get a 5 pole plug on one end of the trailer light kit you can use the Draw-Tite 5-Flat Trailer End 48" Harness, # 20017, which has a 5 flat trailer connector on one end and pigtails on the other end. Distance Between Mounting Slots on the Optronics Trailer Light Kit # TLL36RK
I went out into our warehouse and pulled an Optronics Trailer Light # TLL36RK to measure the mounting slots and found that they are 2 inches on center. Check out the picture I attached to see the measurements. The amber side marker lights are also LED bulbs.

You are on the right track as checking the vehicle is a good place to start. As you did, I would have also started to check the vehicle fuses. Recommendation for 24 Volt Trailer Lights
We do have some lights that are designed to work on a 24 volt system but none that are available in a kit. I recommend using light # STL23R24B. There are a few ways to mount this light. You can use a grommet and flush mount it using # A45GB. Or you can surface mount it with a bracket, # BK45BB. You will also use a wiring harness, # A47PB.

Is Water Supposed to be Able to Get in and Drain Out of the LED Trailer Light Kit, # TLL36RK
A submersible trailer light will have holes in it to allow water to come in and drain back out again. there is another type of light, a sealed unit, that is not supposed to let water in it. The amber lights in kit # TLL36RK, are sealed lights, but the tail lights are not sealed units. It does sound like they are working as they are supposed to. Just make sure that your wiring connections are waterproof!

Replacement LED Boat Trailer Light Kit
The side marker lights are LED and the Over 80 inch description is for DOT regulations. Trailers over 80 inches wide are required to have two side marker lights, one each side.
