Video Transcript for ToyLok Retractable Cable System Demonstration

Today we are going to show you part number TL2021, the ToyLok Retractable Cable System and mounting kit part number TL007. You can also buy it as a kit as part number TL2021-TL007. The ToyLok system is basically a nice cable system where you can attach, in this case, a trailer to a stationary object to prevent theft. We will go ahead and show you how to install. It is pretty easy. It just clamps on to your trailer with some special hardware. It is pretty much over with in a few minutes. This is the actual ToyLok itself. And this is the adaption kit that we are going to use to attach it to the trailer. First off what we are going to do is go ahead and take our adapter plate and bolt it to the ToyLok. All you do is line up the holes and install the hardware.

In this case it is going to use a 3/ 4 inch washers and special anti-theft bolts. It does come with a specific bit that you need to tighten these down with. These are actually hex bits. They have a little point on the inside that keeps it from using a regular hex head key to take them out. It does come with a special bit that is basically hollowed out hex key and you use that to tighten down the bolts. Go ahead and put your lock on top of the tongue or on the bottom, however you prefer. And then these brackets that go on the bottom with the bolts. There are multiple holes so just use which one works the best and then just install your hardware. And what happens is we are going to install a lock washer and the nut with the cone side pointing up.

Okay, you do the same thing on the back side. Once you have it snug down, what you want to do next is go ahead and tighten down with a 3/ 4 inch wrench. And basically it is kind of neat because it has its own security built in. When we tighten these down, what happens is, is that you go so far and the actual hex part of the nut will actually break off. Leaving the tightened part, the cone section , still attached to the bolt and applying pressure to your bracket. So there is no way that you can get the bracket off after that. We will go ahead and demonstrate typical use of a ToyLok here. We will go ahead and just lock up a couple of lawnmowers on this trailer here and we will just show you how easy it is to secure your equipment. Basically all we are going to do is just pull out our cable. Pull out what you need, and it actually has a stop on it so it stays there while you tie up your equipment. You simply take your cable and just weave it around the equipment as you see fit. In this case, we are just going to use the handle bars here. And you can go ahead and run the end back into the ToyLok to install the lock that came with it. And also, if you have your own favorite lock you can of course use that too. But now the lawnmower is secured to a trailer and definitely will not go anywhere.
