In this video we are going to show you how to install a Thule Crossroad roof rack onto a Suburban with existing side rails. We will be using the Thule Crossroad feet, part number TH450, and Thules 58 inch load bars, part number THLB58. The Crossroad pack comes with four Crossroad feet, the end caps with the built in Allen key and four smaller end caps that will go on the end of our bars. The Crossroad feet are designed to quickly and easily attach to the factory side rails on your vehicle. The band is actually a steel band coated in rubber. This gives it plenty of strength but the rubber also protects your factory side rails. It is going to loop around your side rail and connect back to the foot. Then we will use the end cap with the built in Allen head wrench to tighten down this bolt. It will tighten the whole system down to your vehicle, as well as tighten down the crossbars in the foot. 0:55
Now we are going to assemble one and get it ready to mount on our vehicle. We are going to take our crossbar and feed one of the Crossroad feet over it. Next we are going to snap our end cap. We are going to take our first crossbar assembly and mount it all of the way on the front of our side rails. Because the Crossroad system is designed to attach to vehicles with existing side rails, there are no unique measurements per vehicle. All that you have to do is make sure that your crossbar spread from the center of the front crossbar to the center of the rear crossbar is a minimum of 24 inches. We will also make sure that the crossbar overhangs the feet evenly on both sides. Once we have everything lined up, we can start tightening things down. 1:37
As we tighten the Allen bolt down, it is not only going to grab on to the side rails but it is also going to lock our crossbar into place. Now that we have the driver side foot snugged down, we are going to move to the passenger side, tighten that one all of the way down and come back and finish up with the driver side. Once it is good and tight, we will take the end cap, slide it into position and it snaps into place. We will repeat the same process for the crossbar in the rear. You can also install Thule lock cores, part number TH544. The lock cores will allow you to secure the Crossroad feet to your vehicle so that the roof rack cannot be easily removed. And that does it for our Thule Crossroad installation on our 2010 Chevrolet Suburban.

The roof rack I ordered for my husband was what he wanted for Christmas. He wanted to mount fishing pole holders on the crossbars so when he goes fishing with his buddies he does not have to stuff his poles inside his Jeep Rubicon. I really don't understand why he needed them, but this is what he wanted, the old saying of needing and wanting. He was mounting them yesterday to make sure they fit, he was so happy, now we will have to wait till we go up to our summer home in Utah to use them. I also ordered a pole holder from Cabella's which mounts on the bar, it looks real good.29178

The LB are very well built and sturdy. My set up with the bars, feet, and two sidearm bike holders is quite heavy. It is difficult to lift the whole thing off the top of my truck cap by myself. I would have considered the aero bars had I thought weight was going to be an issue. At least I think they are lighter. Overall very happy with my setup. Etrailer was excellent, great prices, quick and efficient service.12336
