Specs:
The Thule Parkway is the perfect hitch-mounted bike rack for weekend warriors and part-time riders. The simple, solid design offers a great option for basic bike transportation.

Rotating, sliding cradles hold your bikes firmly in place on the rack arms while protecting the frames from scratches and abrasions. The cushioned cradles have soft rubber straps that secure the bikes in place, helping to prevent bike-to-bike contact during transport.

The dual arms on this rack offer great support for your bikes and reduce the need for a bike adapter bar. An adapter bar may be required, however, for some women's, children's and alternative bike frames.

Parkway features a pin at its base that can be removed to tilt the rack away from your vehicle for convenient access to your rear cargo area (after the bikes have been removed).
Parkway includes a built-in anti-rattle device on the shank that reduces vibration and noise in the hitch for a smoother, quieter ride. A Snug-Tite hitch lock (THSTL2; sold separately) is available for locking the rack to your hitch. Add a cable lock (TH538XT; sold separately) to lock your bikes to the rack.
The rack comes with an anti-sway strap to reduce movement of the handlebars and front wheels during transport.

We will cover some of the features of this rack, starting at the base. We will talk about the hitch pin or lack there of, instead of a hitch pin this assembly has a bolt that locks it into place. You screw it in, tighten it down, and essentially it makes the bike rack one piece for your hitch so it does not rattle around, move or make noise. Another nice feature about this rack is that the rack itself tilts in case you need to get into the back of your truck, SUV or whatnot. You simply unclip the pin and let the rack down so you can get in the back without having to take the whole assembly off. Next we will talk about the cradles themselves. They are real nice in the fact that they can be adjusted front to rear or left to right. Also the cradles themselves have grooves in them to keep room for your cables on your bike so they do not mash up against the frame. As an additional note, we will take an outside measurement of the cradles to see if it is compatible with your bicycle frame. It looks like overall it will be 12-1/4 inches. Now we will show you how a couple of different bike frames will fit on the rack. We will start off with the standard frame bicycle. As you can see if you look down the line of the cables, they go right into the grooves already made into the cradles so they will not get pinched against the frame. Now we will go ahead and install an alternative frame bicycle on the rack to show you how it mounts up. As you can see an alternative frame bicycle fits just nicely on this rack too. There you have it, part # TH957 from Thule, their Parkway model.

Very Solid and Sturdy. The rack is very solid and sturdy. Assembly was a snap. I have installed it but not used it yet. I'm assuming good reliability and performance but will update after I've used it a little. The big downside with this is that you CANNOT use any old hitch pin/pin lock to secure it in your hitch. You must use the bolt that came with it (not secure) or buy the Thule locking pin for another $44. That's why I lowered the "ease of use" rating. I basically need to go by another Thule product before I can even use. Very poor Thule.2178

Durable and Sharp Looking Only Thule hitch locks work on Thule carriers. Well worth the extra dollars. The Parkway does not have all the folding options of other Thule carriers, but as a ridgid carrier it does a great job for my family of 4. The Thule quality is second to none. Sweedish ingenuity, USA built, on a Sweedish car, couldn't ask for a better match.1140
