The Thule Parkway is the perfect hitch-mounted bike rack for weekend warriors and part-time riders. The simple, solid design offers a great option for basic bike transportation.
Rotating, sliding cradles hold your bikes firmly in place on the rack arms while protecting the frames from scratches and abrasions. The cushioned cradles have soft rubber straps that secure the bikes in place, helping to prevent bike-to-bike contact during transport.
The dual arms on this rack offer great support for your bikes and reduce the need for a bike adapter bar. An adapter bar may be required, however, for some women's, children's and alternative bike frames.
Parkway features a pin at its base that can be removed to tilt the rack away from your vehicle for convenient access to your rear cargo area (after the bikes have been removed).
Parkway includes a built-in anti-rattle device on the shank that reduces vibration and noise in the hitch for a smoother, quieter ride. A Snug-Tite hitch lock (THSTL2; sold separately) is available for locking the rack to your hitch. Add a cable lock (TH538XT; sold separately) to lock your bikes to the rack.
The rack comes with an anti-sway strap to reduce movement of the handlebars and front wheels during transport.

Video Transcript for Thule Parkway 4 Hitch Bike Carrier Review
Today we are going to show you part number TH956. This is the folding 4 bike carrier for 2 inch trailer hitches, also known as the Thule Parkway. It is perfect for a weekly trip to the park or an annual family vacation. The convenient tilting mechanism allows for easy access to the rear cargo area of your vehicle, while an anti rattle device secures the bike carrier to the hitch. It also comes with a safety strap to give your bikes just a little more security with you are driving down the road. Okay we are going to go ahead and put the bike rack into the hitch now and install the anti rattle device. Simply screw it in like so and Thule has a tightening tool you can use to tighten it down the rest of the way. Nice and tight and it will not be going anywhere. We will show you the tilting feature next. Undo the pin and let it fall forward and then you can get to the rear of your vehicle with ease and comfort. Next we are going to install a bike for you here.
Once you have it on there, put the straps down and your bike is ready to go. It can load up to 3 more. Next we are going to go ahead and take a look at the cradles here on the bike. As you can see, they are pretty basic cradles. They have rubber straps here, very durable and movable. The cradles can move left to right and front to back. They also have these little grooves here that make it easier for cables to fit in and not get smashed up against the frame once you have installed them. There you have it for part number TH956 the folding 4 bike carrier for 2 inch trailer hitches, the Thule parkway.

Installed in just a few minutes on a 2011 Rav4 with plenty of clearance between the rack and the full size spare tire. Seems to work well, just a little bounce up and down, but that could be due to the hitch receiver being a little out of spec. One downside is that the bolt that fixes the bike hitch rack to the hitch requires a wrench so you need to keep one handy to install/remove it from the hitch.23109

The quality of the Thule product was great. The issue was that this bike carrier took longer to put 4 new TREK bikes on it then it took to get to our destinantion. I am seasoned in doing this and could not believe the short arms, tight fit and aggravation this bike carrier caused. Needless to say I sold it and will be buying something with longer arms. Buyer beware on this one... We have 4 new TREK mountain bikes so it was a little disheartening I couldn't easily load them without scratching the bikes and banging and pushing them around.17629

Great rack for the price. Got this rack for my wife for Christmas and it has been used extensively all summer. Very easy to install in the 2" receiver and it allowed us to ride all summer long. I'm back to see if I can get a ski/snowboard rack for it. Great rack for the money. Only consideration would be to get one that folds down, otherwise, performs great.3563
The Thule Parkway 4 Bike Rack, part # TH956, has a shipping weight of 34 pounds. If you subtract the weight of the packaging the rack will weigh between 30-32 pounds.

First, to use the Thule Parkway 4 Bike Hitch Mounted Folding Rack, # TH956, you would need to add a trailer hitch to your 2006 Toyota Sienna. I recommend the Hidden Hitch Trailer Hitch, part # 87415. With a 2 inch hitch, there is a wider selection of bike racks and hitch accessories that you can use.

The manufacturer (Thule) does not recommend that any Thule hitch bike rack be used on a trailer or any other towed vehicle. So you will not want to use the Thule Hitch Bike Rack, # TH956, on your travel trailer.
I do have a Swagman Original 4 Bike Rack, # S64400, that can be used on the back of a travel trailer. It will fit 1-1/4 inch and 2 inch trailer hitches.
You will want to check the tongue weight capacity of the hitch on your trailer, so you will not exceed the specifications for tha view full answer...
The factory hitch on your Ford Escape is most likely a 1-1/4 inch Class II hitch. If you have an aftermarket 2 inch hitch the Thule Parkway 4 Bike Carrier, item # TH956, will work on your vehicle but you will have to stay within the tongue weight rating of the lowest rated item whether it is the vehicle, hitch or bike rack.

For your 2010 Toyota Prius, I recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 24847. It is a Class III 2-inch hitch with a gross towing weight capacity of 3,500 lbs. and a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs. The Class III hitch has the more common 2 inch receiver and will give you more options when choosing hitch accessories like bike racks or cargo carriers.

There is another alternative to hanging bike racks. You could use a platform style bike rack. It would be much easier to load the bikes for someone under 5 feet tall.
