Today on this 2011 Chrysler Town and Country we are going to install the Thule Spirit 1600 XT cargo box, part number TH689USXT. The Thule Spirit 1600 requires a minimum crossbar spread of 23-5/8 inches or a maximum of 35-1/2 inches. It has a mounting width of 26-1/2 inches so you will need to make sure that your crossbars are at least that wide. 0:28
First we will position the box and make sure that it is centered along our vehicle. Once we have the box centered we can begin adjusting the clamps and tightening the box to our crossbars. We already have the rear clamps pushed as far back as possible so that we make sure that we have clearance for our hatch. Next we will need to position our front clamps and get them over our crossbars. So we have our clamps finally in position we can go ahead and tighten them down. This clamping system uses a single hand knob to tighten the clamps and lock them into position. Once we have the clamps tightened down our box is ready to use for a weekend camping trip or a family road trip. That does it for Thules Spirit 1600 XT on our 2011 Chrysler Town and Country.
