- If your vehicle is the 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon with the integrated roof rack you will need to use the Thule Crossroad Roof Rack, part # TH450, # THLB50, to install the Thule Atlantis 2100 XT - Premium Roof Rack Cargo Box, part # TH688BXT to your vehicle. - While I am not certain how much additional clearance you will need to fully open the hatch on your 2011 Subaru Outback, I can tell you that the Thule Atlantis 1800, # TH687BXT, is 6-1/2 inches shorter than the 2100. So, the rear hatch should be able to open that much further. The next step down, the 1600, # TH686XT, is 18-1/2 inches shorter. If your factory crossbars are adjustable forward, that could offer some additional clearance, but an adapter is not available for this application.

A crossbar system can be easily constructed using Thule 50 Inch Crossbars, part # THLB50 and the Crossroad Foot Pack, part # TH450. The crossbars will easily install to the rails that run from the front of the vehicle to the rear.
