Today we are going to show you the Thule Atlantis, part number TH685XT. It features an aerodynamic design that minimizes wind noise and drag. The box also features Thules secure lock system. A lock on either side of the box secures your lid and protects the cargo inside. The one-key system is interchangeable so that you can match all of your Thule accessory locks together. The Thule Atlantis is designed to fit Thule load bars, round cross bars and most factory-installed cross bars. The Thule Atlantis line uses a reinforced lid. The reinforcement structures provide some extra strength to the lid so that they do not flex like other boxes do when you open them. The floating struts on either end of the box are spring assisted to help you when opening the lid. The Atlantis line features Thules quick grip system. The whole system is operated with a hand knob inside the box. All you have to do is loosen the knob to open the clamp or adjust the position along the track. 0:58
It is designed to fit roof racks with a cross bar spacing between 23-5/8 inches and 36-3/4 inches. Thule includes a pair of adjustable load straps to help you secure the cargo inside the box. In the quick grip mount, you will see a loop for the load bar strap. Feed the cargo strap through the loop on one of the quick grip mounts and bring the strap over to the mount on the other side. We recommend installing the load straps loosely before you mount the box on top of the vehicle. That way, they are ready to go once you get the box mounted. On the opposite end of the strap, you will find an adjustment buckle so that you can tighten down your cargo. Once we have the cargo straps installed, we are ready to mount the box on top of our vehicle. Once we have the box mounted on top of the roof, we are ready to go ahead and load up some cargo. We will use the load straps that we had installed earlier to secure it and help keep it from moving around inside the box. And there you have it for the Thule Atlantis 1200 XT.
