Today we are going to show you the Thule Ascent 1100 roof mounted cargo box, part number TH602. The Thule Ascent 1100 features 11 cubic feet of storage space. The box can be opened from either the passenger or driver side of the vehicle and the quick grips securely mount to your vehicles crossbars quickly and easily. The quick grip mounts are designed to fit Thule square and round bars, and most OEM installed crossbars. :25
The aerodynamic design with diffuser technology helps keep drag and wind noise to a minimum. The box can be locked from either the passenger or driver side. Built into the lock is a key security feature. Only when the box is properly closed and locked can the key be removed. this will help prevent accidentally locking the keys inside the box. To mount the Ascent on your vehicle, you will need a minimum crossbar spread of 23-5/8 inch minimum and 37-1/2 inch maximum. :54
To open the box, the key and turn it to the unlocked position. On the front and the rear of the box are the dual hinges, which allow the box to be opened from both sides. To operate the quick grip mounts, all you need to do is loosen the knob on the top and the mount is allowed to slide along its track. Once we have our box set on our roof rack, and the clamps are in position where we need them, we will tighten them down and the clamp will close and secure itself to the box. Included with the Thule Ascent line are two load straps that attach from one of the quick grip mounts, to the mount on the other side. These straps will help you secure your cargo inside the box and keep it from moving around when you are traveling down the road. On the other end is a typical adjustment buckle. With our straps pre-installed, once we have our box on the roof and load our cargo we can cinch it down and secure our load. 1:54
Now we are ready to install the box on top of our roof rack. With our box set on top of the roof, we can open it up and adjust our quick grip clamps. Once we have the quick grip clamps set, on the driver side we can close the box, move to the passenger side and adjust those clamps. We can then open the box from either side and start loading our cargo. Well take the straps that we previously installed, and strap down our skis. Thule has also included pull straps so you can easily close the lid, even when standing on the ground. There you have it for the Thule Ascent 1100 part number TH602. If you like the Ascent, but need more storage space, it is also available in three larger sizes. The 1500, part number TH603. The 1600 part number TH604. And the 1700 part number TH605.
