• 24" bar spread required for proper mounting.
• Canoe pad measures 3" x 1-3/4" with a 1-1/2" lip

The Thule Canoe Carrier # TH579XT that you referenced is only designed to work on Thule square load bars so I would recommend you get a Thule Roof Rack System # THLB50, TH450 as it comes with square load bars and would work well with a # TH579XT.
