- Roof Mount Rack for 1980 Dodge Ramcharger
- Part # TH542 mounts to a vehicle that does not have gutters to allow the Thule Gutter Feet to attach. Your 1980 Dodge Ramcharger should have gutters in which case you can use the Thule Gutter Feet and Load Bars and you would not need TH542. You would use part # TH300, TH987 or TH953. - Part TH542 does not attach to vehicles with rain gutters. From my understanding, the Ramcharger already has rain gutters on it, so you would need a roof rack that fits vehicles with rain gutters.

If you look at the second picture on the product page you will see that each rain gutter consists of 3 plates, 2 bolts, 2 washers, and two nuts shown in the other two images. - For a 2011 Jeep Wrangler 2-Door hard top, you can use a Thule roof rack system. You would need the Thule Square Load Bars, # THLB58, and the Thule Gutter Feet, # TH300.
If the back of the roof does not have gutters than you can use the artificial gutters, # TH542. Thule does recommend a qualified auto body shop perform the installation of these brackets because there is drilling involved but it will only be on the back.

- I spoke with my contact at Thule about the rain gutters and rain gutter kit for your 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
If you are only carrying skis you could use the Thule load bars, # THLB58, and the Thule gutter feet, # TH300, on the rain gutters above the doors on your 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. This will provide a cross bar spread of 18 inches, which pretty much limits you to ski carriers.

- You could possibly add the artificial rain gutters, # TH542, to your Toyota Corolla to fabricate a roof rack but I do not recommend it because you will have to put holes in the roof. Instead, a custom fit roof rack is a much better option because it will be designed to fit your vehicle. I just need the year of your Corolla to make some recommendations.

- If your 2007 Jeep Wrangler X has a hard top then you can use the Thule roof rack # TH300 and # THLB58. But you will also need artificial rain gutters, # TH542, that require drilling so Thule recommends a professional installation.
If your Jeep has a soft top you would need to use Bestop roof rack # B4141601.
With a roof rack added to the Jeep you are limited to certain carriers but not # TH542. For 4 boards you can use # TH92726.

- The Thule artificial rain gutters # TH542 are made up of several parts, some of which are plastic and some of which are steel. The part with the actual gutter in it where a foot foot rest is metal, as is the support plate that would not on the inside of the camper or vehicle. There is a plastic piece in between that the gutter plate sets in to help protect the surface it is mounted to. Take a look at the picture I have included that should clear it up.
