Thule Accessories and Parts - TH512

No more having to keep track of multiple keys. Replace the lock cores on your Thule products with these keyed-alike cylinders so that all of your racks and accessories can be locked and unlocked with a single key.

Features:

  • 2 Keyed-alike lock cylinders work with Thule racks, accessories and roof-rack feet
    • Add locks to your rack or carrier
    • Change out the cores on multiple accessories to make them all keyed alike
  • Included keys unlock both cylinders
  • Universal control key lets you remove pre-installed Thule lock cores

Thule's One-Key System makes it easy to secure all of your Thule accessories with just one key. This kit includes two keyed-alike lock cylinders that are designed to either mount in the empty lock core sockets of your Thule rack or replace your rack's existing cores.

Thule Traverse foot pack accepts OKS cylinders

Thule foot packs for roof-rack systems come ready to accept One-Key System (OKS) cylinders. Each base has an area built in for mounting a lock core. Just install the core in the foot and pop out the plastic lock plug on the removable handle assembly.

Thule Flat Top ski carrier accepts OKS cylinders

Many Thule accessories come standard with locks. If you have a Thule ski carrier, for example, you must remove the existing lock cores so that you can install the new OKS cylinders to make all your Thule accessories keyed alike. To do this, unlock the cylinders on your rack. Then insert the universal control key included with the OKS cylinders into each unlocked core to remove it. You may have to wiggle the key a bit to work the core loose. Once the existing cores have been removed, pop in the new OKS ones and you're good to go.

If you have a new Thule accessory that you would like to have keyed to match your other Thule products and you would rather not switch out all your lock cores, then you can add a replacement lock cylinder (THLOCK - sold separately) instead. The replacement cylinder will be designed to accept the same key as your existing Thule products. Just provide the number that is imprinted on your existing cores when you purchase the replacement core, and Thule will make a cylinder to match.

Video Transcript for Thule Sidearm Roof Mounted Bike Rack Review

Today we are going to show you the Thule Sidearm wheel mount bike carrier, part number TH594XT. The Thule Sidearm is a roof mounted bike rack that holds the bike by the wheels. Unlike other roof mounted bike racks, there is no wheel removal needed and there is no contact made with the bike frame. The universal mounting clamps allow you to attach this rack to not only Thule square load bars but also round and OEM style crossbars. The capacity is one bike weighing up to 50 pounds. The track will accommodate tires in widths up to 20 millimeters or 2.6 inches. The Thule Sidearm is covered by a limited lifetime warranty. On the underside of the rack is a track shaped into the aluminum channel. This track allows us to slide the clamp wherever we need it to accommodate a wide variety of roof rack sizes on your vehicle. The bike secures to the rack using this wheel hoop for the front tire and this hook that slides up and down and will lock on to the tire on the front. 1:07

You can also add the Thule one key lock system, part number TH512. The Thule one key system allows you to use the same lock for any of your Thule accessories. On this rack, there are two places for locks: one to secure the ratcheting hook so that your bike is secure to the rack and another to secure the rack to the roof rack of your vehicle. The rear tire is secured to the rack with this ratcheting strap. With the ratcheting strap pulled tight on the rear tire and the hook secured on the front tire, your bike will be nice and stable on the Thule Sidearm. 1:50

Today we are going to be installing the rack on a Ford Escape with the oval shaped OEM crossbars. To attach the Sidearm, we are going to undo one wing nut completely from each of the three mounts. That way we can swing the bottom half of the mount underneath our crossbars. Once we have the rack positioned, we can reinstall our wing nuts and tighten the rack down to our crossbars. We are going to repeat the same process for the other three clamps and then we will be ready to load our bike. In the front you want to make sure you have your wheel pulled nice and tight against this metal hoop. And up top you want to make sure that the ratcheting hook is pulled down tight against the tire. Once the front wheel is secure, we are going to take our ratcheting strap and secure the rear wheel. Make sure this bumper sits nice and centered on your wheel. That way it keeps the pressure straight down. All we need to do is pull our strap through. And once we get it pretty tight we will grab our buckle and lock it down. Once we have done that, our rear wheel is nice and secure. Once the bike has been secured to the rack we are ready to hit the road. And there you have it for the Thule Sidearm, part number TH594XT.

Ordered two additional cylinders for our new T2 rack (which only has three cylinders supplied for 5 locking positions). Cylinders on the rack are key number N175. Of course the extra cylinders had a different number, 188. Am attempting to rectify this problem at this time.24531
