The Thule Traverse foot pack is the ultimate vehicle-specific base rack, providing the strongest hold, the most accurate fit and the easiest installation of any rack on the market.
The Traverse towers - or feet - hold the bars to the vehicle more securely than other racks by implementing Thule's patented MaxClamp technology. The towers are tightened to the vehicle using the integrated AcuTight tensioning tool. These devices indicate when the feet are safely and properly attached to the vehicle, and they store conveniently inside the towers when not in use.
The towers mount to your vehicle using vehicle-specific clips (sold separately) that snap into place on the towers in seconds with Thule's EasyClick bracket-attachment system.
The Traverse offers a handy OneTouch bar lock lever, allowing you to set the rack position once during the initial installation. The bar lock then holds your load bars in place so that you never have to position them again - even when removing and reinstalling the rack.

Video Transcript for Thule Traverse Roof Rack Installation - 2009 Acura MDX
Today on this 2009 Acura MDX we will be test fitting a Thule Traverse Roof Rack. We already have the load bars and foot pack assembled per the instructions, so we will go ahead and show you how it looks on the vehicle. First well open the car doors and place the first load bar onto the vehicle facing the front, positioning them close to the windshield. Next we measure from the end of the windshield to the edge of the foot pack, that should be 10 for this particular install. Once thats measured out on both sides you want to check and make sure the load bar is centered on the vehicle. Now we will snug them down and lock them into place using the provided Accue Tight measuring tool.
Next well move onto the back load bar. We will put that on the back edge of the rear window. To get the proper spacing between bars, well measure from the center of the rear bar to the center of the front bar which should be 28-1/2 . Once thats set we can tighten down the second assembly as we did the first. Now we will give you a measurement of how much height has been added to the top of the roof line to the top of the load bar, and that comes out to 4-3/4.
And there you have it for the Thule Traverse Roof Rack on our 2009 Acura MDX.

I received the THULE roof racks and installed them with no problems. I am very pleased with the promptness of your delivery and the excellence of the rack system. I will look to etrailer for my future rack and towing needs and will spread the word about your great company.

First Etrailer's customer service is something that all online vendors should aspire to. The communication was excellent and I still can't believe how fast I got my product. Second, the product is exactly what I expected. Thules rack fits my car perfect and I can't wait to go on a trip to use it.16577
Shipment arrived missing 1 of 2 bike rails, with sticker stating that the order was complete. But Customer Service fixed it pretty quick,
although I felt they should have shipped it overnight since it was thier mistake. Also, I thought locks were included. That was another $65 at the local bike shop. Oh well.
Everything else was fine. The installation video on the website was extremely helpful.

If your 2008 Dodge Caravan does not have a factory roof rack, you will need some additional parts to use the rack with your van. In addition to the feet, part # TH480, you will also need the mounts part # THKIT1043, and the load bars, part # THLB50. The mounts attach to the door frame where the door seals against, and the load bars run perpendicular to the vehicle and provide the attachment point. We sell these 3 parts together as a complete package and I have added a link to the whole package b view full answer...
For a rooftop carrier, you will need some sort of roof rack system. I checked on the Perrycraft roof racks and it is very difficult to tell from the images on the site if the racks we carry will fit. I spoke with my contact at Thule and she stated that they have never tested their carriers with the Perrycraft racks. She did state that the Thule racks will accommodate most factory racks, and if the cross bars Perrycraft offers are round or square and under 3 inches in diameter, then the Thule rac view full answer...
For your 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab with a naked roof, the roof rack system you would use is the Thule Roof Rack For 2009 Dodge Ram Pickup, # TH480, # THLB58, # THKIT1520.
It would include the roof rack foot pack and fit kit that attach to the rain gutter on the roof of your vehicle. Then, the crossbars will attach to the feet of the foot pack and extend across the width of the roof.
With the crossbars on the roof of your vehicle you can then attach many of the roof rack accessories that view full answer...
The Yakima Tower Kit we have for Rain Gutters is part # Y00101. You will also need an SKS Lock Core Kit, part # Y07204. You will also need a set of cross bars. If you write back with the width of the Jayco trailer, gutter to gutter, I can suggest an appropriate length for a cross bar.
Make sure to check the load capacity of the trailer roof before you use the roof rack. view full answer...
I should be able to put together a list of parts for a roof rack and kayak carrier for you. Just a couple of quick questions would help narrow things down.
Do you have a preference as far as Yakima or Thule for the roof rack or carrier? And second, what is the size of the kayak? Lenght, width and weight? view full answer...
If your 2007 Dodge Magnum does not have any rails or cross bars (a naked roof) then you have 2 roof rack options. First, we have the Thule Rapid Aero Roof Rack. This rack features more aerodynamic aluminum bars to resist wind noise while traveling and they have an attractive aluminum finish. For this kit, you would need the following items:
Thule Rapid Aero Roof Mounted Foot Pack (Qty 4), # TH400XTR
Thule AeroBlade Aluminum Load Bars, 53 Inches, # THARB53

The Thule Traverse Roof-Rack Foot Pack, part # TH480, requires the use of the Thule Roof-Rack Fit Kit, part # THKIT1532, to fit your 2011 GMC Sierra 2500 Extended Cab. This fit kit is required when using any of the Thule roof racks on your vehicle. This fit kit will have certain vehicle specific measurements listed that are needed when installing the foot packs to your vehicle.
One of the measurements is the distance from the edge of the windshield, back to where the front roof rack bar needs view full answer...
A concern you will have when going with a roof rack system is the roof load carrying capacity of your 2011 Kia Soul and the weight limit of the roof rack. You will want to make sure not to exceed the load limit of your roof or roof rack. The roof rack, plus the weight of the boat and any other cargo will be considered weight on your roof. The roof load carrying capacity of your Kia Soul can be found in the vehicle owners manual.
The problem you will run into is the capacity of the roof rack. view full answer...
To carry a snowboard on the roof of your 2005 Mercedes Benz C320 4Matic, you will also need a snowboard carrier in addition to a roof rack. The item you selected, Thule Traverse Roof-Rack Foot Pack, part # TH480, would be the correct foot pack to mount a roof rack to your vehicle.
For the complete roof rack, I would recommend Thule Roof Rack, part # THLB50, # TH480, # THKIT1204.
For a snowboard carrier, I would recommend the Thule Flat Top Ski and Snowboard Carrier, part # TH92724. This ca view full answer...
I spoke with Rhino-Rack, Yakima and Thule, and all of them have roof racks that are forth-coming but not yet available for a 2012 Toyota Prius V. However, there is still an option for carrying a Kayak on the roof of the new car.
You can use SportRack Premium Bar Harbor Foam-Block-Style Kayak Carrier, # ABR527, which will fit on a vehicle with no roof rack of any kind. I have included a link to the installation details for you to view.

To provide a roof rack for your 2011 Flex, you would order:
Load Bars, one of part # THLB58 which includes two bars
Traverse Foot Pack, one of part # TH480 which includes 4 feet
Vehicle-Specific Fit Kit, one of part # THKIT1518 which includes 4 foot pads and 4 brackets.
The foot packs each have a knock-out for installing optional keyed-alike locks, part # TH544.

The Thule Traverse Roof-Rack Foot Pack # TH480 that you referenced that is part of a roof rack for your 2011 Ford Fusion would work fine with you having a sunroof. Depending on what you plan on carrying on your roof rack you may not be able to open your sunroof, or if the sunroof has a tilt feature where the back of the glass comes up as a vent you may not be able to do that either.
I attached a picture for you to check out that shows this rack installed on a vehicle with a sunroof.

The Thule Traverse Foot Pack, # TH480, is a great system that has performed well. The square bars it uses, # THLB58, do not look like factory type of bars which are normally elliptical but they work well.
But, if you were looking for something that has more of a factory appearance you could use # TH480R with AeroBlade Bars, # THARB60.
For either kit, you will need a roof fit kit. For the Sport model, you will need # THKIT1456. Either rack would be easy to remove if you needed to. The foot view full answer...
If the Thule rack from your 2002 BMW 540i used the Thule Traverse foot pack. # TH480, that you referenced, all you would need for your 2012 Toyota Prius is the Thule Roof-Rack Fit Kit, # THKIT1566, to mount the Traverse feet and 50 inch square load bars.
